ReplyDeleteBarnes & Rubble
ReplyDeleteEver get the uneasy feeling behind all the glitz and glamour hype we are bombarded with KCMO is basically flat broke?
ReplyDeleteOkay - if they had the money and time to put up a damn sign - was the money allocated for the sidewalks already - and where did it go?
ReplyDeleteDarn, now the wizards at city hall are gonna take down our beauuuuutiful sign.
ReplyDeleteDarn, now the wizards at city hall are gonna take down our beauuuuutiful sign.
ReplyDeleteI guess Melba and Jermaine and Sharon and Sly and the rest never drove down Monroe Street. If you are going to pretend to represent a district at least come have a look at it.
ReplyDeleteI just read this on the AIEBC's website:
ReplyDeleteSometimes its always those who whisper first and what that whisper is about that ignites speculation and rumor, it will always abound, so we’ll be looking at and sharing in our newsletter what’s taken place with the AIEBC through the past year, the good and the bad, why we chose not to endorse issues such as immigration reform S. 744: Border Security, Economic Opportunity, and Immigration Modernization Act or H.R. 2190: Thomasina E. Jordan Indian Tribes of Virginia Federal Recognition Act of 2013 and what that cost us as an organization for taking such a stand.
Why we do not agree with Kansas City’s version of “Community Recognition” and how we interpret what “Relevant Community Recognition” is, who and what companies benefitted from it by claiming minority status as American Indian and how they did that without having any proof what so ever even when the Nations, Tribes and relevant community said these people were not members (community recognized) or citizens.
The e-mail responses we received from the city because we asked for information concerning how it was determined and how non-minority businesses have been using the MBE program at the expense of the American Indian people on projects such as the Airport and other local projects that used Federal funding and what that cost us as an organization to question everyday practices by City Hall.
The search for what it means when a State like Missouri says it does NOT recognize State Tribes and the effect it has on people that claim they are from a State recognized tribe trying to do business in Kansas City, MO.
Who we partnered with, who we dropped, who dropped us and the reason for it all. This should be an interesting read because I’m sure there is a little of something for everyone. Please know that this is in no way a “tell all” or that we should be seen as “activists” we just cannot accept that there are companies that are claiming a status they obtained simply by using a misinterpretation of a definition (loophole) to change their race to American Indian its just unacceptable and it should be looked at as just that by you as well. This is simply a coming to Jesus moment to put things in perspective. If you would like to receive our newsletter please contact us at info@aiebc.org and let us know and we’ll be happy to add you
Melba is toast.
ReplyDeleteIsn't that close to where Sly says he grew up?
ReplyDeletemelba's always been toast
ReplyDeleteHere marks the spot where 3rd district leadership traded your tax dollars in for a rather large pony.
ReplyDeleteIn the area about East 29th Street between Cleveland and Indiana. Seen this corner 100 times before. That sign is old. That's the first thing. The second thing is nothing has been done. Big surprise.
ReplyDeleteIn their defense, there used to be a dead hooker laying next to the tires.
