Additionally, public safety seems to be the last priority for Mayor Sly and the City Council as they prepare to spend big money on the streetcar but haven't really mentioned a thing about security as Kansas City gunfire gives the big eco-devo plans of Mayor and Council a reality check.

None of this violence will stop until the thugs see increased police patrols. Not just cars that come blaring with sirens and overweight detectives that show up AFTER the incident.
Cops will need to be seen and take charge but do it even handedly. If you see a white or black thugh do the same to each. Also officers need to start wearing personal cameras on them to both keep them honest and cut down on the false claims of police mistreatment.
Next the prosecutor offices of Jackson, Clay, Platte and Cass, but mainly Jackson will need to really crack down on sentencing. Yes drug and mental health treatment and diversion for first-time offenders but if you fail those then jail time. If you do some jail time and get out on probation and mess up, then prison time.
Repone McCune (unsure of spelling) and actually build another facility like it. Take the youth offenders off the street too. There has to be consequences or people will just do as they please.
