Kansas City activists, politicos and organizers will be on The Plaza this weekend to help prevent flash mob violence.
KCTV5 offers a bit of preview on the effort to stop violent youth flash mob on the Plaza before they start . . .
Fox4: Alert volunteers to patrol the Plaza, on guard for problems, fighting
Here's what's probably the most important passage from the weekend media blitz:
Pat Clarke, a community outreach specialist who works with the Kansas City Police Department, agrees with city leaders that he wants more safe options for kids. He is urging for even longer hours at community centers, making them year-round and is asking for parents to get involved.
"If your kid is somewhere acting a fool, and you're OK with that, that's the problem," Clarke said.
Saturday night, Clarke is asking parents and community activists to meet on the Plaza to reach out to the kids and ask how they can help.
"Just come down, walk around, talk to the kids, just let them know that you're there," he said.
Clarke said the problem goes beyond the Plaza's bound and it's not going away.

Will be too cold for flash mobs!
ReplyDeleteSounds NIGGERIFIC!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure it'll be pretty a white women down there to handle all the black manI'm sure they know how to calm them down
DeleteWhat happened to Black churches and community groups putting things together for children? I was raised in the eastside (late 70s and early 80s) and we always had stuff to do. There was a church that had skating parties. I was in the choir and gils mission and they had parties. The schools hosted talent shows.
ReplyDeleteThere were kids groups sponsored by black professional organizations, lodges and greek letter groups.
Also just the families on my block (single parent and two parent) had kids over or took them bowling or out for pizza or just a large group of my cousins and I would do stuff.
I think this stuff is still around but apparently there are fewer black children plugged into it. I guess this is another result of the growing underclass in our community. Too many people who have dropped out due to drugs and thug culture and a growing trend of younger and younger and less mature mothers and absent fathers.
First you have to determine who the actual parent was or is.
ReplyDeleteOh shit right it's the weekend and the mobs of teen gangtas and killers will be out in force terrorizing everyone. Pray for an artic front tonight!
ReplyDeleteit's pretty obvious you're racist but I'm sure your wife or girlfriend probably has a throat full of black dick right now
DeleteThe parents will be out smoking crack and getting drunk, twerking, they don't give a shit.
ReplyDeleteYou people suck. You complain when parents don't do anything and now complain when they do.
ReplyDeleteSounds like all you losers want to do is complain.
(sound of GONG!!!) Then be gone, foul temptress... be GONE FROM THE HALLOWED GROUNDS OF MY CREATION, THE COMMENTS PAGE!!!
Delete"Just come down, walk around, talk to the kids, just let them know that you're there"
ReplyDeleteRight everyone planning to go to the Plaza should plan on becoming surrogate parents for the evening.
Right okay uh huh.
Nightsticks and snipers. Forget the touchy feelie crap, it won't work. Pile up a few bodies in the street and a dozen, or three crushed skulls and thinks may calm down all over.
ReplyDeleteJust stay the FUCK off The Plaza!!!
ReplyDeleteWhats so difficult to comprehend about that! It's not a night care center for messed up kids!
Build your own freaking Plaza!
ReplyDeleteOr..........
Maybe Rev. Cleaver can give them all singing jobs at...
The Car Wash
You might not ever get rich
But let me tell ya it's better that diggin' a ditch.
There ain't no tellin' who ya might meet. .

Workin' at the car wash yeah !
Come on and sing it with me car wash.
Get with the feelin' y'all car wash yeah.
Well. With all this advertisement on the news no doubt the Plaza will be full of families and visitors this weekend looking to enjoy a classy evening on the town.
ReplyDeleteBut the main question many have is what kids can do if they aren't welcome at entertainment districts.
ReplyDeleteUh hello? Stay home? At least until you learn to behave like refined and civilized adults where it's appropriate to do so?
Ever tired to reason with 16 year old thugs packing heat? Good luck with that.
ReplyDeleteWell we won't be going to The Plaza this weekend thanks for the heads up!
ReplyDeleteHi, were in town visiting this weekend. Is there any place to go here where mobs of criminal teens aren't hanging out harassing people?
ReplyDeleteNot really. Venture out at your own risk.
ReplyDeleteCraig Glazer will welcome the kids to come on over to his club. They can hang out there out front.
ReplyDeleteFlash Mob Stanfords Comedy Club! Brilliant! Glaze can do an open mic party.
ReplyDeleteSend the kids to the West Side. Tony would welcome them no doubt.

Maybe the Mayor can declare a Babysitting Tax.
ReplyDeleteLOL @ my fan. I'll be in LA this weekend but I'll always check this blog. Keep thinking about me, because I won't be thinking about you.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, this is a good move from community people. I wish my former council members would take part.
shut up, dude.
ReplyDeleteFree chicken and waffles at all area Denny's from 9 - 12 tomorrow night.
ReplyDeletesame shit different day...same old niggers not taking irresponsibility for their offspring...oh wait how can you look after your own fucking kids when you have 8 of them, from 8 different baby daddies, and you are only 27 and high on crack. stupid fucking niggers
ReplyDeleteIf it takes a village to raise a child then why don't these little fuckers go to Prairie Village?
ReplyDeleteThis is really simple. Just keep the NIGGERS off of the Plaza. Case closed.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, Mr. Clarke is still glinging on to the days of Dr. King. Those old tactics don't and won't address the conditions of today's youth. The fact that they keep using the same strategy to deal with an ongoing problem proves as much. I wouldn't trust my kids at any Eastside church. They may end up like the Catholic church and that's unacceptable.
