TKC BREAKING NEWS!!! MUST SEE: HAPLESS KANSAS CITY PUBLIC SCHOOLS LAUNCH INTERNETS FORUM ON APRIL FOOL'S DAY!!!

Kansas City Public Schools put an upcoming online forum on blast without anybody second guessing the leadership regarding the timing of the Internets venture.

To wit . . .

IN A TYPICALLY UNFORTUNATE PUBLICITY STUNT . . . KANSAS CITY PUBLIC SCHOOLS HAVE ANNOUNCED A BRAND NEW INTERNETS FORUM THAT WILL KICK-OFF ON APRIL FOOL'S DAY!!!

Check yet another optimistic KCPS presser:

"On April 1, the Kansas City Public Schools is launching KCPS Forum, an online community engagement tool created by MindMixer and powered by the ideas of engaged citizens like you. Anyone who signs up on the site will be able to ask questions, share ideas and collaborate with the district to develop fresh ideas for supporting student achievement. We'll use the feedback to make informed decisions about the way we move forward. We hope you'll sign in to www.kcpsforum.org on Monday and contribute your unique voice to the conversation."

And while I keep waiting for the KCPS to hit bottom, we keep getting tragically hilarious promotional stunts like this one that only seem to reinforce the notion that something needs to change. And fast. Seriously, if KCPS DIDN'T DOUBLE CHECK THE DATE FOR A REALLY OBVIOUS AND EMBARRASSING BLUNDER than this small detail kinda suggests that the big questions aren't getting answered either.

In the final analysis, this is just a little embarrassing for the KCPS but reminds us of the far more serious implications of public school FAIL for Kansas City.

Meanwhile Waldo and Brookside bide their time until a Missouri takeover or until they work up the courage to secede from the District too.

DEVELOPING . . .

    No, thank you. I'll pass.

I have spent a great deal of time sending one of the board members a great deal of information and ideas on things the district could do to improve with barely a "thank you" for taking the time to do it. It was fairly obvious that he didn't even read the majority of what was sent.

This endeavor will be the same. These people will do and say whatever sounds good at the time.

  12. I used to retweet things on Twitter for KCMO Pub schools until I realized they only really acknowledge the politically well connected people (a. hand, and that circle), so its safe to say if you are a nobody to them they couldn't care less what you think or if you try to help them. Fuck em.

  13. So is nothing supposed to be scheduled on April Fools Day because a simple minded blogger and his simple minded followers can't get over the date? Is that like having lunch w/ 5th graders but not wanting to squeeze the mustard bottle because the dumb asses will giggle about the fart noise?

  14. I thought Sly was going to fix the schools. Whatever happened to that? I guess it's just another promise he can't keep.

    Fart noise?

    BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

  16. Sly and Airick are friends. He won't interfere when his friend is doing a FANTASTIC job with scholar achievement.

  17. Tony the Doofus strikes again.

    And misses.

    ReplyDelete
  18. This is not as bad as Tony's fuck up when he posted that charter school video and credited it to KCMSD. But he does look like a doofus on this...or rather a 5th grader giggling about fart noises, nice example LOL.

  19. You don't improve schools by closing them and selling the building to Wal-Mart.

    ReplyDelete
  20. No, you improve schools by holding on to every single piece of property, needed or not, forever and ever.

  21. WHA U SAY?

U MEAN 2 TELL ME THATZ AIRWICK AND CRISPY AND GUNNER HIGH ARE NOT THA GENIUZ?

    I DUE NOT BELIEF!

  22. AN HONEST MAN3/28/13, 11:12 AM

    People, people, people ...

Let's face it shall we? If having "forums", asking for the "input of engaged citizens", or promoting more "dialog" was anything remotely like a panacea for what is manifestly broken about the District ... wouldn't thing already be materially better?

Can we stop the spin? Can we recognize that the kids stuck in the District are hostages?

    ReplyDelete
  23. You save schools by getting people excited about education. Not happening here so people are leaving or have already left and KC doesn't have a clue about how to fix the educational system here anyhow.

    ReplyDelete
  24. It's all about holding people hostage to one taxpayer financed racket after another.

  25. George Carlin3/28/13, 5:10 PM

How do you expect idiots to fix shit other idiots fucked up?

    ReplyDelete
  26. Airick can't even take care of Airick, so how could he save anyone else?

  27. A minor funny. But funny nonetheless.
