TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! KANSAS CITY TOP DEMOCRATIC PARTY INSIDERS RAGE OVER MAYOR SLY CHOOSING KIT BOND LOBBYING FIRM!!!
Once again Kansas City's Democratic Party elite find themselves at odds with a decision announced by the office of Mayor Sly James.
To wit . . .
BEHIND THE SCENES KANSAS CITY DEMOCRATIC PARTY INSIDERS RAGE OVER MAYOR SLY'S ANNOUNCEMENT THAT KIT BOND WILL LEAD LOCAL D.C. LOBBYING EFFORTS!!!
But there's more to the story than that . . .
THE KANSAS CITY DEMOCRATIC ELITE WANT PEOPLE TO KNOW THAT MAYOR SLY HAD BETTER OPTIONS THAN THE GOP ELDER STATESMAN!!!
Sure, there's no doubt that Former Missouri Senator Kit Bond is an accomplished politico with a lot of connections that will benefit his firm. This was a big part of what Mayor Sly touted when he announced the decision.
Heck, Kit Bond even has an ugly, copycat bridge named after him.
However . . .
KANSAS CITY DEMOCRATIC PARTY INSIDERS REVEAL THE OTHER TOP CONTENDERS FOR THE KANSAS CITY LOBBYING GIG THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN A MUCH BETTER CHOICE!!!
And here's where things get really interesting . . .
Polsinelli Shughart dropped out of the gig because they need more time to count their mountains of money.
And now . . .
Husch Blackwell was ready to pick up the slack. This firm hosts some of Kansas City's top lawyers and political denizens. Nobody would have thought twice about picking these local legal sharks.
An now here it comes . . .
HOWEVER, KANSAS CITY DEMOCRATIC INSIDERS ARE FURIOUS THAT THE FIRM OF FORMER CONGRESSMAN ALAN WHEAT WAS PASSED OVER FOR THE LOBBYING JOB!!!
"This is nothing less than a slap in the face to members of the Democratic Party in Kansas City," one local insider noted. "Alan Wheat's firm is far more established when it comes to lobbying and what the Mayor is missing with his selection of Kit Bond is any connection to the urban core and the Eastside neighborhoods he claimed to represent during his campaign."
A bit more perspective . . .
"What might be seen as a non-partisan move just doesn't make sense for our lobbying efforts during President Obama's administration. What people are saying is that this is a decision that helps Mayor Sly James further his own political career with very little benefit for Kansas City."
And all of this goes back to the ongoing suspicion that Mayor Sly's Democratic Party credentials are rather soft along with further speculation that Kansas City's top elected official is out for himself . . .
Developing . . .
Suck a big fat one DemocRATs.
ReplyDeleteAbout like as exciting as fart sniffing snack cake eating.
ReplyDeleteSly's a Republican, duh! He calls himself a Dem because that's the only way he can get elected. Just like Mike Sanders, Mike Sharp, etc., etc.
ReplyDeleteIsn't Kit Bond older than fuck?
ReplyDeleteJust rage all you want, the NIGGERS will always do what's best for THEM and not for the party, the city, the country, etc.
ReplyDeleteAlan is black. We all know that Sly only chooses to bed with whites. It would appear that this preference extends to his business partners as well. He's got to go!
ReplyDeleteOuch. That's smarts but that's what most people think. Sly has no suppoer from the East side.
ReplyDeleteSly is a sellout. Nuff said.
ReplyDeleteThe idea that KC "East Side" connection will grease your way into some cash in Washington, is not only provicial stupidity, it speaks to the naivete and sense of entitlement that East Siders are steeped in daily from birth.
ReplyDeleteBond has major connections in Washington that actually will bring cash and jobs to KC.
Alan Wheat pales in significance, reputation and achievement next to Kit Bond.
The mayor made a logical choice.
Chuck the racist approves of the white guy. Big surprise.
ReplyDelete11:13 the anti white guy calls chuck a racist. Big surprise.
ReplyDeleteDon't let the facts get in the way of a answer.
If somehow, Rae Carruth, or lawrence Phillips gets the Democratic nomination, 11:13 votes for them.
They are black.
96% of African Americans voted for the black guy.
That you dumbfuck, is racist.
Bond's connection to the "urban core and the East side" has always been Cleaver. Bond would throw some cash to Cleaver's church buddies (co-conspirators) and the Rev would tap dance to whatever song Kit hummed.
ReplyDeleteEverybody KNOWS niggers fuck up everything every time!!!
ReplyDeleteActually, Chuck the racist, I'm white, and I vote for whomever is the least fucked up of the candidates, white or black. You're the one who makes race the determining factor for your positions on pretty much everything on these boards. That makes you the racist, even though you have a very slightly better grasp of English and even sanity than 11:41. He is just a caricature, not even worth commenting on.
ReplyDeleteI think Sly made a bad move on this one. Bond is a Rep. who is intensely disliked by most Democrates, his age was mentioned by one blogger and I agree, he is well past his "sell-by" date. He is also a drunk. I would think hiring Alan Wheat's firm to lobby people in the Obama administration would be a no-brainer.

ReplyDeleteAnothrt guy makes apologies for fsilure.
Thr ho to atgumrnt
ReplyDeleteUr a racist!
Punk
For the most part voters seem to continually elect crooks or the politicians quickly become so after being elected to office.
ReplyDeleteSo much for bipartisanship? Dems want Republicans to be bipartisan but not visaversa.
ReplyDeleteMr. Tony,
ReplyDeleteI thought my cold meds were confusing me, but Mr. James' hiring of Sen Kit Bond makes political sense. No, not in DC. There are better choices for KC than a Bond connection.
This makes sense as Mayor Sly James may feel the need to politic for his job. He wants a Northland win. He wants to scare the pants off of any potential contender. He has the money, sartorial dash (?) and now he has the Republicans. Sure, he is GOP but most don't see that. Sen Bond will be the very public reminder that Mayor James is a "good guy".
It is an odd choice because Sen Bond doesn't appear to be a self starter. Perhaps his talent is hiring great staff. Luckily, Sen Bond worked well with Rev Cleaver.
The last group of lobbyist seemed to just be going through the motions. Like the mayor's office after the Funk daze, the bar is also set low for the lobbyist.
Sly is just working across the aisle to get some of that fiat Federal money they print in Washington.
ReplyDeleteLet's see bond lobby sam graves after firing his brother as us attorney. Good luck with that he can't even get the r's on his side and he refused to even help hartzler beat old man ike. Bond is a dead man walking.
ReplyDeleteAlan Wheat was inconsequential when he was in DC and he's been long forgotten. He has no contacts, no weight and no pull.
ReplyDeleteBond might not have been the best choice but he's a far better choice than Wheat. And Bond's rich. Maybe he can give Cleaver some cash so the deadbeat rev can pay off his car wash loan.
