KANSAS CITY HEAVYWEIGHT COMPETITION!!!

Big dudes in Kansas City promise that they're going to cut back on everything but spending taxpayer cash . . .

Mayor and Chamber President Vow to Get Healthy

Kansas City mayor, chamber CEO start weight-loss contest

Kansas City Mayor Sly James and Chamber of Commerce President Jim Heeter are in a weight loss race.

Rest assured that TKC refuses to give up snack cakes and beer . . . BECAUSE I'M NOT A QUITTER!!!

And this is the Mayor's third weight loss news tidbit since he's been in office . . . He promised to cut back on a local scale challenge THEN said he was gonna start walking on Twitter and now this publicity stunt . . .

Good luck to both of these dudes tightening their belts . . . Too bad the KCMO budget didn't earn as much of an effort in trimming from either of these big dudes.

  1. We're in the middle of a DEPRESSION. This is theater of the absurd!

  2. Do you seriously believe either of these two can push themselves away from the trough?

  3. Sly is so full of shit he can just drink Metamucil for a week and drop a good fiddy pounds.

  4. Why doesn't Sly commit to losing one pound for every homicide that takes place in the city in which he is the chief executive?
He's already 46 pounds behind for 2012 and in just two years he'll look like Gumby.
Bread and circuses with the swells while the city goes down the tubes.

  5. The only thing these two fat fucks are going to do is tip less at the local BBQ restaurant.

  6. Jim Heeter is a pretty good guy in my opinion.

  7. During the Mayoral election, I challenged James and Burke to a similar weight loss contest (since they were both obese) but there were no takers at that time.

If it can inspire others to get healthy, then I say let the game begin!

  8. Neither of these two inspire anyone to do much of anything. It would be more fun if Tony challenged Darla Jaye!
