At the end of the week this is kind of a powerful statement from from followers of Farrakhan: Members of the Nation of Islam are going door-to-door looking for men to join their push to stop the violence in Kansas City.

Cafe& - Coffee with Eddie Delahunt is one of Kansas City's best local traditions.
Westport Coffeehouse - They're always so cool when they get my order wrong.
Broadway Cafe - The best spot in Westport to sit out on the street and judge people.
The Filling Station - These hipsters are rather industrious and they're closest to a Eastside local coffeehouse that I can find.

ReplyDeleteYou forgot Hattie's Fine Coffee in Prairie Village. It is 13 yrs old and is owned by a 20 something couple, Gretchen and David Copeland. They are local, graduated from UMKC and KU respectively after attending SM schools. They purchased the shop 2 years ago, and they are working very hard to make a go of it.

Please support your local business owners, of which most of the ones you mentioned are not.
They also support community activities, like the Dragon Dash at the local elementary school. People love their local coffee shopts, and David loves to sit and greet people who come in. It is kind of like sitting on a front porch. Please stop by and say hello, even if you are not buying anything.
Their coffee sucks as well and eye candy not worth looking at.
