    So if I read it right, there are witness' and Eric Grimes may be the perp. Why is it bad, if Alonzo wants killers and shitheels off of the streets?

    Did the police have knowledge of Eric Grimes BEFORE Alonzo did? Is that fact categorical and provable? If so, good fuckin job Alonzo!

    KCPD has in fact had Mr. Grimes as a person of interest since shortly after the murder. Due to the sensitivity of the crime, and maintaining the integrity of the investigation, we had chosen not to disclose this information to the general public. Unfortunately Mr. Washington and the family have decided to complicate matters by disclosing sensitive information in this investigation for the purpose of self promotion.
