Rep. Rizzo secures funding for gunfire detection system in KC
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – The House Budget Committee today adopted an amendment sponsored by state Rep. John Rizzo, D-Kansas City, that would include $150,000 in the state operating to allow the Kansas City Police Department to purchase a ShotSpotter gunfire alert and analysis system.
“This technology will give Kansas City police an important tool to combat gun violence,” Rizzo said.
ShotSpotter technology uses acoustic sensors to detect loud explosive sounds and accurately triangulate the location.

Doesnt JJ's brother, Tony, work in the purchasing department at KCPD?? Someone should investigate this potential conflict IMMEDIATELY!
ReplyDeleteI can triangulate gunshots in KCMO from here. They'll all in a fifty-block area on the east side.
ReplyDeleteWhat do these things do about character and behavior?
Good job anything that will help stop violence is a good tool
ReplyDeleteA democract can achieve in a republican held house great news.
ReplyDeleteWhether you like the program or not it's a strike against those who are using guns to murder in the City. Keep it up
ReplyDeleteAnytime Missouri money come to KC its a victory ,good job
ReplyDeleteTh crime in Johnny's district isn't usually gun crime, it's vandalism and scrapping. Perhaps he could do something for his district rather than the districts to the south.
ReplyDeleteSounds very much like that ridiculous red light camera SCAM. Is there anything these poiticians won't buy with taxpayer money. Well at least thanks to Tony's obession with the gangster murder numbers we'll be able to watch those numbers plummet once this goes on line. Year, sure.
ReplyDeleteEvery night idiots and drunks fire guns at random. The KCPD doesn't respond now. Why would they respond to a machine?
ReplyDeleteBullshit waste of money. Hearing gunshots is so common people shrug.
ReplyDeleteRoyster you need to let it go ,your area needs this the most. They fired at your house. Quit being a hater
ReplyDeleteThanks Jj anything that help fight the murder rate is a win. Good job
ReplyDeleteWhat a joke above blogger we need scrap legislation instead of something that could save a life. Go back to your dream world
ReplyDeleteI live in northeast I could care less about scrap legislation I am sick and tired of me and my kids waking up to gunshots, if this helps we need it
ReplyDeleteDang all out JJ, you are busy posting nice comments about yourself here this morning. Guess you will be late for session....as usual.
ReplyDelete"The content of their character??" Hell, niggers have no character, much less conscience.
ReplyDeleteTony did you photoshop that pic to make your girlfriend Rizzo look like he has a 18 incher? Dream on weiner breath!
ReplyDeleteThat technology is merely a way to tell if any of us have guns. Government wants our guns! Do not support such anti Constitutional attempts to disarm the public.
ReplyDeleteMore money for the GIZ/UNI.
ReplyDeleteGreat job
ReplyDeleteWill probably triangulate a rabbit hunter in Eastern Jackson County shootin at some food.Send in the drone.
ReplyDeleteScrapping is important as well, but we're handling that at a municipal level. Otherwise, I'm with 8:24.
ReplyDeleteel Bobo head with another moronic comment. This does nothing to kick morons out of here to begin with, it just lets us pinpoint where the dead bodies are after the shots are fired. Stupids.
ReplyDeleteJJ took one of Will Royster's legislative agenda items from two years ago and used it to try to gain credibility - good thing Royster provides JJ with so many good ideas, otherwise the boy would have no original thoughts to claim as his own.
ReplyDeleteBryan makes the only decent point in this thread.
ReplyDeleteIf this helps find criminals than good for Rep. Rizzo for getting the funding.
