TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! KANSAS CITY'S GREATEST REPORTER RUSS PTACEK MOVES TO THE MUCH BIGGER WASHINGTON D.C. MARKET!!! HE'S THE NEW INVESTIGATIVE REPORTER @ WUSA9!!!

Without question NBC Action News Reporter Russ Ptacek has changed the landscape of journalism in Kansas City.

His stories brought down politicos, shook government agencies and caused talk all over Kansas City.

Russ Ptacek is not only a Cadillac among men but also one of Kansas City's greatest journalists. If you think I'm being hyperbolic . . . Then you haven't been paying attention to the news.

Now he's taking his game to the next level.

WE'VE LEARNED THAT RUSS PTACEK IS LEAVING KSHB AND MOVING ONWARD AND UPWARD TO WUSA9 IN WASHINGTON D.C. IN ORDER TO LEAD THEIR INVESTIGATIVE NEWS TEAM!!!

Here's the WUSA9 website where you can find Russ in the future so you won't miss him too much . . . Remember that in the digital era, we're all only one click away.

Obviously, Kansas City is going to be significantly less awesome without Russ Ptacek in town.

But cheer up . . .

During his stint in Kansas City Mr. Ptacek changed the reporting game so much that our dead tree media can no longer claim they have the market cornered on serious journalism.

Russ Ptacek has been a one man bastion of investigative prowess in Kansas City and his stories have even started discussion on the Senate floor.

Mainstream media will soon report the news in KC . . . However . . .

LOOK FORWARD TO A TKC EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW AND REPORT WITH RUSS PTACEK REGARDING HIS JOURNALISM ADVENTURES AND THE TIME HE SPENT IN KANSAS CITY!!!

For now, we'll just pause in order to acknowledge that a reporting legend in the making has given Kansas City some great stories and now continues his epic journey.

Congratulations Russ.

  2. They have a couple of Mexicans working there, Tony will be fine.

But Russ is doing real work and was always too good for this small city.

  3. Uhh....have you ever Watched his stories? Crap made up "news" with one point, get Old Silver Hair in the shot. Pretentious piece of crap, DC can have him.

  4. People who pay attention (aka read this blog) knew about Ptacek's "scoops" like William Norris for months before Ptacek did any "reporting." Ptacek just found stuff six months that no one reported and made it his own.

  5. Larry, get back to work. You've got the 10 o'clock newscast to get ready for. Make sure they get you the large-print Teleprompter.

  8. What's funny is that if Ptacek lowers himself enough to talk to Tony, it'll only be AFTER he leaves for a bigger market. If he was staying here, Tony would be Hoovering him day and night for an "exclusive" interview.

  13. Back in the mid-1970s Kansas City had another reporter who "made his bones" with the news ... reporting on all of the plaza Flood cars that were sold as new. He too was some one who dug deep. Another superstar picked up by either DC or NYC.

    John " Someone."

Sorry but I can't remember his name. If only he had been a print reporter. Electronic Media? It can't last.

    Good luck Russ.

  14. If you think K.C. sucks try D.C some time. Outside of the historical places to go it completely sucks. The people are total East-coast assholes.

  15. Congrats to you Russ...and for all you haters out there, guess what? People who prove their worth get choices in life, and if they choose to do something else, good for them! Yes, D.C can totally suck (I've lived there), but that's for each person to decide for themselves- and it IS fascinating, if nothing else. Good luck Russ!!
