Apparently, a few members of the Kansas City Fire Department are feeling rather saucy amid these winter Holidays.

I don't know exactly what's going on in that photo but I'm pretty sure it's not standard practice in other sections of municipal government i.e. not even the Water Department gets down that nasty.

People who were in the military as well can tell about stuff related to pranks like this. Have a friend who did 20 in the Marines and he is full of such stuff.
@7:22 after 3 year pay freeze and they negotiated that, so tough shit if your union or job decided to fuck you .... tired of whiners bitching when a group of people get together and get more money that you, we cant negotiate everyones raise .. haters .. and firemen dont make that much anyway, it took me 16 yrs to get to 58k a year before taxes and what they take out for healthcare, pension, dues, dental and other random deductions, so i am happy to get any raise and cant concern myself with the fact that (pick your villian) fucked up the economy so bad that unemployment is high as fuck, if us giving up somemore money would create a job then i am sure they will freeze it again .. blame the city not the fire dept the city is the one that agreed to any and all raises given to employees and the mast merger will gaurantee a mass layoff or payfreeze in the future so dont worry too much haters we will get fucked soon enough.

They get to cook, play video games, work out, sleep, and do alot of other things (hence the photo), while cops are nearly call to call for their entire shift, 5 days a week every week of the year. A friend of mine is a KCFD firefighter and works 12 days a month. Another friend is a KC cop and works 20+.

ReplyDelete@8:23 because the fire union negotiates better than the cops...@843 lets put them on an 8 hour shift with busy work so you will feel like you got your tax money worth, they tried that in the 80's and it about broke the city on overtime because of overlapping calls, them dudes are there 24 hours at a time so the 12 days a month argument is weak, they are there for the hours. some perception of what a work day should entail is not the same for fireman as it is for most other occupations so deal with it. its not shift work they are not making a product, if a fireman sits on his ass for 23 hours a day and farts on some guys head and then in that last hour burns so many calories busting his/her ass that they have to recover the whole next day from heat exhaustion, co in the blood and exposure to so many chemicals that are sure to cut his/her life shorter than the common man then i am all for them getting to goof around some at the station.

These fireman ARE heroes, and I think its a little reassuring that after all the pain they see, they can still have fun with one another. Keep at it guys you are family and if you cant have fun with your family then who can you have fun with?

ReplyDeleteI’ll tell you what I see. I see a bunch of frat boys behaving badly at the local grocery store. I see a bunch of fire fighters sitting on their asses or playing basketball behind the fire house. Now, we get this story from Tony’s Kansas City. At least when I do see the cops in this city, they are working! Crime might be high, but at least they are working, which is more than can be said for you and your union buddies.
In my opinion, if the politicos in this town were the least be concerned about the citizens, they would privatize the ambulance service again, and turn KCFD into a strictly volunteer fire department like so many others in this country. The salary savings the city would realize from dumping all you union assholes could then be used to hire more cops to help fight crime. At least with plan the citizens would be getting some real work for their tax dollars, instead of frat party antics and shitty politics that we get from you Local 42 idiots.

ReplyDeleteFirst of all, all fire depts are not created equal, there are FD out there that actually give a shit about what they do, they respect the job they have, and are selfless about the duty they are paid to do all while behaving in public!! They exercise moral turpitude on a daily basis on duty or off, they risk their life when needed,and do the job the tax payers pay them to do, EXAMPLE- the suburban fire departments in this area are the ones that surround KCFD.

My personal opinion about fighting a fire is, if there is no one in danger let that bitch burn (protect the neighboring property, but dont send in life when no life is in danger) - after all isn't that what insurance is for?, insurance that we all pay ridiculous premiums for???
The e-tax was a joke, we all know that!! - its about lining the pockets of the very politicians and union officials that have ruined and continue to ruin this city! Including the Kansas City Fire Department and the IAFF.
Its all great that KC FF's work so hard for the citizens who PAY their wages, while the huge fire trucks we paid for are cruising for girls on the plaza, or bringing in underage girls and drugs into the fire station (all felony acts - that get swept under the rug when caught). Or how about your captain giving you the heads up on a imminent drug test so you can make arrangements,(so your MOM can piss in a zip lock bag) so that your ass can pass your drug test!!
Look the public knows (and has known) the burden you bring on the tax payers in KC! You are not celebrities here in KC - you might want to leave your uniform shirt at home next time you go out to the bar, or casino, restaurant or whatever, no one is all that impressed, but thank you, it helps the normal people to identify the idiots you really are when you lurch out in public off duty selling your false heroism ,you're lucky you don't get your ass kicked, when you hit on someone elses wife,or girlfriend!! meanwhile your wife is at home with YOUR kids or your coworkers kids, from a previous marriage or current affair.

As far as insurance goes, if you properly insure your home with a good insurance company, you will see what they cover. If you don't have insurance on your home you probably cant afford to live in your home anyway, so if it burned to the ground you would have a chance to start over from scratch.
