IF TKC OR ANY OTHER PERSON OF COLOR FROM THE URBAN CORE ATTEMPTED TO STEAL $62K IN A BOTCHED BANK ROBBERY, HOW MUCH JAIL TIME WOULD BE ASSIGNED AFTER AUTHORITIES SOLVED THE CRIME?!?!?
For the record, I won't even keep library books overdue because I'm pretty sure "the man" wants me in jail because my blogging is more threatening than The Rise Of The Planet of the Apes.
However, when it comes to the good people of JoCO the disparity is clear . . . Check the latest headline:

These JoCo D-bags spent less than a week in jail for trying to take down a bank.
Thanks to the PRISON INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX we are now living in THE ERA OF MASS INCARCERATION . . . For those people naive enough to believe that we're living in a free country, remember that the U.S. imprisons more people than China . . . And most of those people are minorities, the rest are poor whites.
But for the most part the disparity when it comes to lock down applies to people of color. In many ways it's worth questioning . . . Did slavery really end in 1865, or did they just change the name to prison?
The answer doesn't really matter . . . What's OBVIOUS is that there is no objective or equal system of justice in the United States. Instead, we see thousands upon thousand of minorities and po'folk locked up while the denizens of the Golden Ghetto are held to a different standard or none at all.
More freedom equals more shitheels committing crime.

ReplyDeleteThey were convicted of theft, it wasn't robbery since the victim was in on it. Kansas sentences under a grid formula. Severity of crime, priors, etc are part of the grid, just like the feds. If it had been a black teller with no priors he would have been given the same sentence because that is what the grid calls for. Do a little research before you pull the race card. The next time you see a black guy get sentenced on a murder case, look him up on case net. you will most likely find he has been given probation, shock time, and every other chance under the sun prior to his most recent conviction.

ReplyDeleteYou are being way too generous because they are white. Only because they are white and rich are they granted such allowances. You wrote that "the victim was in on it" I don't think the stockholders in the back or the management was in on it, you're just talking about one of the accomplices.
In other words, these guys caught a big break for grand larceny. No matter what their color. They should have met with jail time.
They were treated leniently because they are . . . EXTREMELY GOOD-LOOKING BANK ROBBERS. I'd like to be hit by either one/both.
