Here's yet another example that Kansas City mainstream news outlets cater to the middle-class and have all but forgotten about the interests anybody outside their preferred demographic.
Let's start here: Ethnic folks, people of color and lower income Kansas City residents STILL LIKE BOXING, in part, because of this town's rich tradition with the sport.
So, a bit of news about a World Champion isn't making waves like the latest loser using The Royals as a career springboard.
To wit . . . A lot of us know that WBC Boxing Champ Victor Ortiz is from Garden City, Kansas and the state has done their best to claim the young legend in the making.
SADLY, BECAUSE SO MANY KANSAS CITY SPORTS NEWSIES GRAVITATE TOWARD MIDDLE-CLASS CORPORATE FARE . . . NOT MANY PEOPLE KNOW THAT VICTOR ORTIZ TRAINED ON THE EASTSIDE WITH THE WHATSOEVER BOXING CLUB ACCORDING TO TKC TIPSTERS WITH ENCYCLOPEDIC KNOWLEDGE OF THE SWEET SCIENCE!!!
Yes, I know there was one measly profile that doesn't really stand up to ocean of copy regarding the Chiefs who haven't seen a championship in a generation.
So, while Sam Brownback wants to claim Ortiz for Kansas . . . It would be silly to overlook his professional Kansas City Proper connection.
More importantly, Ortiz has endured a harsh upbringing and his road to Boxing prominence has been tough. Meanwhile, Floyd Mayweather is getting old and hasn't fought for awhile . . . Accordingly, if Kansas City sports newsies step up their game and quit waiting for permission to file their stories from the front office of corporate pro-sports team . . . This town might notice that Kansas City can support a champion in his prime rather than a bunch of greedy teams looking for tax breaks.

Jesus. It was so fuckin terrible. The Klitschkos have ruined boxing.
Joe Fraizier, Ali, Earnie Shavers, Ken Norton (Norton knocks Klitscko out in the first round. The peek a boo thing would kill Klitscho.), Carl Williams, George Forman, jesus there are 25 fighters that could curb stomp this fuckin guy. Larry Holmes, the msot under rated fighter in history, would fuck with this guy for 3 rounds and drop him. I think Tyson probably beats him in his prime.
Boxing sucks because of the Klitsckos.
Victor will have to chase Mayweather, and he will catch him enough times to win.
