POLICE ARRESTED FOUR MEN LAST NIGHT AFTER THEY FOUGHT WITH SECURITY GUARDS AND POLICE IN THE VICINITY OF THE MIDLAND THEATER!!! POLICE HAD TO BRING OUT THE STUN GUN BUT LUCKILY NOBODY WAS SERIOUSLY HURT!!!
Expect charges for assault and resisting arrest against the 4 men.
So, whether it's a shooting or more drama for Cordish regarding how they handle their biz . . . The only thing that's clear is that THERE IS NO DOWNTOWN RENAISSANCE and Kansas City's favorite pastime is always fighting amongst each other.

Mutually exclusive sets of people.... think about that as an underlying condition of our hyper-segregated city.
The Power and Light District is supposed to be a public pavilion. We should be able to carry our own bottles of wine inside, any time of day or night. We should have a 24 hour presence in the town square.
Vagabonds and scoundrels ought to be dealt with, but not *discriminated against* based on outward appearance or credit rating.
There ought to be a place where everybody feels welcome.
We are spending $400,000,000 plus on this Power and Light experiment. I want to be able to go down there and not feel my poverty. It is for all of us to have.

And it wasn't the cops blood. Them two fellas fucked with the wrong old school black cop and they went to the hospital by ambulance. That show was ghetto and pure trash.

ReplyDelete5 to 10 years ago I would have said that for every black person involved in this kind of behavior, there are 100 who condemn it and would have no part in it. Now I fear that ratio has dropped to 1 in 10. The problem to me is that they have been raised and schooled with the idea of equal access to everything as they should be. Blacks in KC have every right to be anywhere they choose to go to spend the evening. The inherent problem lies in the homes, where respect and societal standards are shown, lived, and taught. If you have never taught children how to behave, then why expect them to do so when theyare older. For all the clamoring for respect, they show little themselves and that is the basic problem in the black community. a serious disconnect between respect earned and expected.
