I'm not sure if I buy it, given that I didn't hear much of a peep when the Latino Water Dept. Director was taken out and nobody really cared one way or another . . . Now almost a year later that's just another City Department (out of many) that's working with an interim director.

While Mayor Sly and The Council like City Manger Shulte and everybody seems happy with him as a new hire . . . Don't look for ANYBODY to stand in front of a train (wreck) for him. So as the Honeymoon continues for Mayor Sly, notice that the reign of "King Troy" might soon encounter a bit of a revolt.

No one seemed to make race an issue when Cauthen primarily/exclusively hired only black directors, so why is it an issue now. If directors get the job done, keep them. If not, say goodbye. I'm glad Schulte is willing to make changes if necessary.

ReplyDeleteWalk thru city hall and all you see is black women who work there, well, show up there. Most of them are on lunch at 930 in the morning licking popcorn butter off of their fingers. "airytime" I call down there, they put you on hold until a white competent woman handles the situation. Most of them there are just there for the quota spot. They have no clue how to do the job. And, get paid well for doing nothing. Hire more honkie women and get the city back to work.
ReplyDeleteI have been a contractor for the city off and on for many years. I am not white. There are very capable Hispanic and African American employees working for the city but not all are at the Director level or above and won't likely be. It is not because they're not promotable, it is because they are not friends with the City Manager. That goes back to the last four City Managers. I also have to admit that I have worked with very talented white Supervisors and Managers who feel their upward mobility is limited by their skin color. No kidding. Some have gone to other municipalities and others go to the private sector eventually. I have even seen a more talented black male passed over because the black female threatened a lawsuit. I think this is all getting out of hand. Some cases of discrimination are valid and others are not. As a minority who supports equal opportunity laws, I stand against these phony lawsuits. Look how much the city has lost in reverse discrimination lawsuits. Where does it end?

ReplyDeleteWater department and parks and rec are all black workers. City services should be all outsourced to companies that can do the job for half as much. And will hire the best workers for the job. Not by the color of their skin. Atlanta is doing it and it is working great for them. But I guess doing that would piss the African Americans off. And who is 'african' by the way. They were born in America right? I dont tell people I'm German irish American do I?
