Holy Elle Liberachi, just like TKC TIPSTERS have been telling us . . .
KANSAS CITY'S WATER INFRASTRUCTURE HOT MESS IS GROWING WORSE EVERY DAY!!!
City Manager Troy Schulte offers up this latest and most ominous warning:
'The bill is coming home' on KC's water system, city manager tells council
What's important to realize is that this bill doesn't stop in Kansas City Proper given that KCMO supplies shares and sells water infrastructures to nearby suburban parasites.
So, years of deferred maintenance are suddenly set to sink this town as a wave of Summer water main breaks and overall bad planning over the course of a generation create a tsunami of increasing costs.
DEVELOPING . . .
Good thing that e-tax passed.
ReplyDeleteYeah just think how bad things'd be if we didn't fork over that money.
ReplyDeleteStrange how water is now such a big issue, thanks Terry Riley u r the #1 man,
ReplyDeleteWhat I think is funny is the last three mayors, who have stated I love KC and will slove the problems of the city, have been Dem's. THe city council members have been Dem's for the past several terms and we as a city have not sloved anything. Oh, wait we have P&L cost the $12 million a year (Barnes), thanks to Cleaver the NASCAR track went to Kansas, the Funk lost the Soccer stadium and Cerner to who...that is right Kansas, and last but not at all least Sly who cannot figure out to slove a problem (but has fund raising for himself down pat)or make a decision and has managed to stabbed KCMO PD in back and is no longer trusted.
ReplyDeleteYet again KCMO is on track for another great four years.
Oh ya I forgot Sly wants the city to invest $10 million into a hotel downtown. I think we should do it because that cannot possiably fail.
If you want to see expensive service and no maintenance, just turn it over to Terry Riley's private company.
ReplyDeleteAnd $2.4 BILLION sewer upgrade hasn't even started yet. Wait until those cost overruns start with a department that hasn't even had a professional director for years.
ReplyDeleteHow's the new downtown hotel coming along?
Etax has nothing to do with Water Department. They are an enterprise fund.
ReplyDeleteDeferred maintenance? No, 100+ year old infrastructure.
The 2.4 billion is for sanitary sewer, not fresh water. Don't like the 2.4 billion pricetag? Blame the federal government. They are pushing this.
11:43am is dead on. Water does not receive any e-tax money and this is an EPA and DNR mandate. Clever ignored the issue, wasn't sexy enough for Barnes,Funky had his hands tied with an idiot council and Sly Dog has to make it happen because the EPA, State and DNR fines are outrageous.
