TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! JACKSON COUNTY POLITICAL INSIDERS WORRIED THAT STEVE BOUGH GRANDSTANDING WILL COST THEM!!!

Leave it to The Star to put some rather juicy political news out there without any context.

Luckily, AWESOME TKC TIPSTERS have an inside line to a great deal of the sentiment circulating around the county.

To wit . . .

JACKSON COUNTY INSIDERS ARE CALLING STEVE BOUGH'S ATTACK ON LT. GOVERNOR PETE KINDER OVER UNPAID HOTEL BILLS AN "UNWISE" MOVE THAT MAY RESULT IN UNINTENDED CONSEQUENCES!!!

Now . . . The Star dutifully reported that Jackson County Democratic Party Chair Steve Bough called on Lt. Gov. Peter Kinder to repay the state for hotel stays that Kinder had billed to taxpayers.

What they left out . . .

Steve Bough is a staunch Mike Sanders supporter, in fact, The Jackson County Executive is solely responsible for Bough's standing in the party thanks to a move that angered so many Eastside Democrats.

AND . . . EVERYBODY KNOWS that Mike Sanders is leaning toward a run for Lt. Governor.

So this bit of political grand standing SEEMS to make sense for Bough and Jackson County Exec. Sanders who don't seem to be thinking more than one step ahead of the game.

MEANWHILE . . . MORE ASTUTE TKC READERS ARE WORRIED ABOUT THE CONSEQUENCES OF SUCH A BRASH STATEMENT FOR THE REST OF JACKSON COUNTY!!!

Consider . . .

Lt. Gov. Pete Kinder has A LOT of pull in Jeff City and there is the potential that he may take out any hurt feelings on the Jackson County budget. That's why the State Demo Chair is usually the one calling out the GOP for their misdeeds . . . Sadly, seeing the opportunity slipping away . . . It's clear the Sanders/Bough duo wanted to squeeze every bit of press out of this GOP opportunity/disaster.

Let's not forget about Missouri Rep. and House Speaker Steve Tilley . . . Word is he's also got his eye on the Lt. Governor job and with a little more than a month left to go in the Session . . . It goes without saying that Rep. Tilley could make Jackson County pay for Bough talking out of turn.

There's really nothing for the Jeff City GOP to lose when screwing with Jackson County . . . So once again, Mike Sanders and his crew seem to be more concerned about their political hopes and dreams rather than the fate of local government and the consequences of their politics on the residents of Jackson County.

DEVELOPING . . .

  4. Bough is a moron, and anyone who listens to him ought to have their head examined. The fact that our newly-elected mayor put his wife on the transition committee is scary.

  5. Bough better watch out Kinder is no Terry Riley.

  6. Havent we got enough trouble in Jackson County without going statewide .

  7. 7:28, I can't think of a nicer compliment than to say someone is no Terry Riley.

  8. seem to be more concerned about their political hopes and dreams rather than the fate of local government and the consequences of their politics on the residents of Jackson County.

Tony for such a young Hombre, your insights spot on. Took me a long time to figure it out. You can substitute almost any venue for Jackson Co. andy you've got our political system.

  9. Bough is a moronic, self-important nitwit, with the charm of an unsuccessful candidate for Student Council president. I can't stand the guy.

But anyone who REALLY thinks that "Jackson County" is going to suffer because the local head of the DEMOCRATIC PARTY criticizes a REPUBLICAN OFFICEHOLDER is just talking out of their ass. Bough is doing exactly what he's suppose to do, and what Republicans expect him to do - pounce on and criticize every little thing the Republicans do wrong. His statement isn't out of the ordinary, its standard operating procedure.

And I don't see how this is designed to help Sanders; even if Sanders does run for Lt. Gov., everybody knows Kinder is running for GOVERNOR. Sanders and Kinder wouldn't be running against each other.

  10. Good grief! The election has been over less than a month, and we're already deep into more insider insider Jackson County political crap that no one cares about and won't make a bit of difference to anything.
The old adage that politics is Hollywood for ugly people has to be expanded for Jackson County. It's a paycheck for incompetent self-important and utterly delusional people.
And after they're e;ected time after time, why are we surprised that things don't work very well?
And now, on to the new hotel in KCMO!

  11. As a "political insider myself" let me tell you and other people that the relationship between Bough and Sanders is not all that goodl

  12. Bough is Sanders lap dog. Tony has it right

    ReplyDelete
  13. If Bough is Sanders mouthpiece Mike should re-consider.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Clean up the county, say good night to Steve and Mike.

  15. 7:53 you're exactly right. But allowing the gop controlled house and senate to attack Jackson county residents and withhold or divert funding is dirty self centered politics. How do we get honorable people in office that actually care for the people of Missouri and not their next election?

  16. What a dumb move for a smart lawyer

    ReplyDelete
  17. Bough is picking a fight he can't win all for the press.

    ReplyDelete
  18. 8:54 you abandon the initiation of force and adopt voluntary interaction as the paradigm for human relationships.

    Duh

  19. The Dems are not going win anything in MO next year, so Sanders better stay in Jackson County.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Bough did not want to break with Tilley because Jason Kander is a close friend of Tilley's.

Without Tilley, Jason would have never been able to claim responsiblity for passage of Charlie Shield's unconstitutional ethics law.

Bough is stuck between a rock and a hard place as Democrat chair when neither he nor Jason are really Democrats.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Bough is a fundraiser, not a mouth piece. He has no idea how a campaign is run or a platform is presented. Steve can talk to other filthy rich people how have not earned their wealth and ask for cash. Steve Bough is part of that club, which is why he is Chair of a very weak county party organization.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Steve does not even raise the cash necessary to pay Jessica Podhola, who provides staff support for the party. Steve Bough makes Jessica raise her own salary, which takes away from organizing. Steve Bough is a rich SOB he deserves no respect.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Steve is all show and no go a political groupie.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I don't think Speaker Tilley would punish Jackson County for Bough's attack on Kinder. In fact, he probably welcomes it as it weakens Kinder going into the Republican Primary. And what would a Republican Lt. Governor want to do to help a predominantely Democratic area like Jackson County in the first place? Point is Bough's attack on Kinder will have no effect on Jackson County in so far as Kinder is involved, cause he already had it chalked off as a nest of Dem douche bags.
