The work of Penny Mathis provides the only comfort amid this ongoing Kansas City cycle of violence:
"Three women were injured in a shooting about 9:30 p.m. near 82nd Street and Paseo, when someone fired into their vehicle, Kansas City police said."
Thankfully, they're all expected to live . . . However, what will be marked as a shooting and not a homicides actually creates fear throughout this town and makes an impact far beyond mere statistical data.
The Kansas City Police would have been there but they were too busy with their show of force at the Health-care meeting, trying to intimidate the Board of Police Commissioners and City Officials.

That is a great comment 6:39, and I'd recommend that both the firefighters and police unions might want to look a little more closely at the public mood about public employees unions still demanding "their share" and telling everyone else to go screw off. I don't think they're going to find many residetns backing up their unreasonable demands, and with the election just over, their political clout won't be worth much for another four years either.
