Kudos to anybody able to talk about this plan with a straight face. After a soccer stadium betrayal this idea doesn't seem ambitious but still equally doomed. TKC Fun Fact: Forever 21 won't save South KC.
Remember, this is FEDERAL, not City Hall. It's also not etax or Funk.

I remember when the neighborhood poa spokesperson was on the news standing in front of the bordeded up grafitti laced building proclaiming no soccer stadium and that this was the most important piece of real estate in the african american community

The only thing that actually would work, would be to legalize marijauna, and license only residents of 64134 to grow and sell it on site.
Everyone would be too chilled out to kill anyone, and the money would start to flow.

ReplyDeleteFor the previous plan, which was almost as bad, John Sharp said they needed a soccer stadium to draw people to the retail area. There is no stadium in this plan, so what will draw people to shop in a high-crime area surrounded by crumbling roads and boarded up houses?
Yah I grew up in that Bannister Mall area. White people moved out of there because of increasing crime. Increasing crime due to criminal elements moving to the area. Shoppers at Bannister Mall were robbed, mugged, shot. Get the picture?
