KANSAS CITY VOTER TURNOUT FAIL!!!

Let's put things in perspective . . . Less than 50k out of SO MANY MORE TENS OF THOUSANDS didn't are about voting yesterday.

Neither Mayor Funky nor any of the City Council Candidates did much to inspire voters to cast a ballot.

Expect a few more people for the General Election but it's obvious that this town just didn't care about Democracy as much as so many brown people fighting and dying for it in Africa and The Middle-East.

As for folks in KCMO caring about democracy like the "brown"people in the Middle East do, you'll find that the voter turnout here was the LOWEST on the east and west sides.
I guess they've decided that you don't have to vote; you just have to threaten and whine.
That tactic sure has worked well on the east side!

Wrong again, Northland also didn't vote.

    Check your facts racist.

It was the 6th District which is very diverse that voted the most.

Your racist spew reveals your ignorance.

  4. But what were the turnouts on the east and west sides?

  5. In the last school board election that brought victory for some geat new young people, the turnout east of Troost was 4%. They won because of the voters along Ward Parkway.
So what was the turnout on the east side this time? Rowland spent $50,000 for a handful of votes. Do the math.
    Oh, and he lost!
And none of this has to do with the good old "racism" nonsense. It has to do with deomocracy and arithmetic.

  7. You freely spew that nasty plantation word and of course you are ignorant but slavery is officially over in case you didn't get the memo. Now if you look at the changes in America you will be in the same boat as minorities, no jobs, no opprtunities, no social security, no medicare, no deceit roads or water infrastructure, no more unions to protect your hard fought rights. And guest what, you won't be able to blame minorities for your new aquired woes as you whine and beg for handouts that no longer exist becuase you fought hard to get rid of them because you hate so deeply. Finally realizing that you have been duped!

  8. Why don't we all stop blaming anybody for anything and simply post the voter turnout in various parts of the city in this election? The simple fact is is epople don't vote, they can't complain about the results, and an additional fact is that not many residents voted in the election yesterday.
The helpful response is not name-calling or rants; it's voting for candidates who might actually try to provide some representatin that's good for ALL the city instead of looking out for just small groups of families, friends, insidrs, and contributors.

  9. I image a lot of people don't vote because they never see anything changing for the better for their own personal life or community. They may have voted over and over for these different canidates only to find out they have been bamboozled. After a while you get that it dosen't seem to make a difference depending on where you live.I always vote and I remain optimistic but I only see certain people benefit from it.

  10. Only the informed should vote...which means voter turnout would drop precipitously.

But until they give a test before entering the polls ("Do you know why you're here? Do you know who it is you're voting for? Do you have the faintest inkling of the issues on the ballot?"), we're all completely and hopelessly screwed.

  11. Tony would want those tests in Spanish. LOL
