It's strange that Mayor Funky has avoided much scrutiny during this campaign so far . . . Especially regarding his SLOPPY and NOT SO SMART WITH THE MONEY reputation.
He's paying more money to his kids than his campaign consultant and nobody bats an eye . . . Weird.
In fact, it's kind of weird that Kansas City GOP Machiavelli seems to be donating his time to Mayor Funky's cause without taking a check?!?!? No joke, that's actually very generous given that outgoing Mayor could never afford him at full price.
Nevertheless, while the other candidates are picking at each other KICK-ASS TKC TIPSTERS noticed:
In Mayor Funky's campaign finance report, in almost every circumstance they don't list the occupation or place of the biz donor. They list their occupation as "employee" and that's all.
The ethics form specifically asks for the name of the employer, yet the Co-Mayors don't provide it.
They identified only 15 employers out of 71 contributions reported, only 15 identified employers as required by The Missouri Ethics Commission.
The form SPECIFICALLY asks for the NAME of the employer of the donor, NOT their employment status.
Maybe a minor paperwork error to some . . . But it doesn't speak very well to their ongoing promises of transparency.
Maybe his kids are giving him better advice than his campaign "consultant". So far the Funk campaign seems to be promising more of the same, calling the other candidates names, and demonizing "the establishment".
ReplyDeleteAnd the cleaver idea that somehow Jeff Roe cahes in on the public dime if Funkhouser gets re-elected doesn't do a whole lot for me. We already have enough insiders with their snouts in the public trough.
Give them all state-issue jump suits. This is not sloppy, it is fraud.
ReplyDeleteSomeone who lives in Kansas City must file a complaint with the Ethics Commission.
Is that Gandalf hugging Frodo before his trip to Mount Doom?
ReplyDeleteWell at least he is now providing an address.
ReplyDeleteIn his old reports, under the expenditures he'd just list a name without any other identifiers.
Many times Jeff Roe candidates just list expenditures to Aixiom Strategies, without filing a supplemental report providing the spending detail -- which is illegal enough.
ReplyDeleteBut in this case, Funk is refusing to disclose the money raised for Jeff Roe and how the Fat Man has spent anything.
Tony, it is not like you have any relationships to protect with Funk and Jeff Roe: File a complaint.
Yeah, looks like he hit up a bunch of convenience store clerks from other countries, folks still impressed by his title of Mayor.
ReplyDeleteFunky probably threatened them with nasty health and liquor inspections if they didn't pay up.
ReplyDeleteWould you want to be identified if you donated to them?
ReplyDeleteCan't Kanatzar file fraud charges? It is my understanding that fraud violations are left to local prosecutors by the Missouri Ethics Committee.
ReplyDeleteThe new reports state you can list either employer or occupation. So he listed.
ReplyDeleteGreat job Kander and Flook ... idiots! You managed to make reporting worse again.
ReplyDeleteHas anyone else heard that Sanders is in negotiations with Funkhouser to give his endorsement to the Mayor?
ReplyDeletePrime Buzz says Sanders has endorsed Hermann.
ReplyDeleteSanders already gave his endorsement to Hermann. And if "occupation" now means "employee" for the co-mayors, it seems a lot disingenuous to not provide the name of the company. What are the co-mayors afraid of when skirting the rules? Just another case of lying by the co-mayors. They talk of transparency but fail to deliver again. They reek.
ReplyDeleteHas anyone else noticed that under the new law, transparency is actually harder when searching the ethics commission?
ReplyDeleteyes
ReplyDeleteHey Butt Pirate.....how far did you have to climb inside his anus for this info?
ReplyDelete1/19/11 10:41 AM
ReplyDeleteJust deep enough to tickle his prostate.
with your tounge.
ReplyDeleteBullshit!!
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't touch that anus with your tounge!
Oh, relax. Gloria'll get it.
Roe should have been reported as a loan incurred by now.
