TKC EXCLUSIVE AND THE TKC SATURDAY NIGHT PLAYLIST!!! WILL A RECYCLED PAT GRAY CAMPAIGN LOSE THE E-TAX?!?!?

Let's just do a quick bit of compare and contrast tonight regarding the most important Kansas City political issue that pretty much defines most of the other races in this town.

I've already noted that I like the current pro-E-Tax campaign and the medical drama fear based simpleness of the whole thing . . . The Keep KC Alive website gets right to the point and should frighten everyone into voting the right way and keeping JoCo interlopers paying for the KC services that they use but want free.

However, it looks like I my affinity for the E-Tax campaign might have something to do with a bit of familiarity.

A KICKASS TKC TIPSTER REMINDS US ALL THAT THE E-TAX CAMPAIGN SEEMS TO BE A CUT & PASTE JOB FROM PREVIOUS PAT GRAY HEALTH LEVY PROPAGANDA!!!

The comparisons are nearly as spooky as the life & death imagery. Check it:

Internet denizens can only access the old school "SaveslivesKC.com" health levy site from The Way Back Machine but the familiar strategies give way to this question:

IS THIS COOKIE CUTTER APPROACH BY PAT GRAY GOING TO BACKFIRE?!?!

The old school Healthcare funding election and the need for current E-Tax cash are two different animals and neither one of these initial approaches seems to really "pop" like so much old school Pat Gray work.

The pulse monitor is the same. The new E-tax site starts with an ominous beeping while the old Health Levy site used a heart beat and the "life and death" metaphor attempts to make this a lot more grandiose than just a simple tax vote. Without question, it's just a different version of the same campaign so far.

To wit, there just aren't many viable political consultants in Kansas City and this E-Tax fight is going to take some intense persuasion . . . However, what's really scaring a great many politicos right now isn't the media offered in this debate but the same kind of lackluster campaign that Kansas City has already witnessed.

And all of this scary medical imagery and threats about local health have inspired tonight's playlist.

As always, thank you for reading and have a safe and fun weekend.

  4. Give me 50k and i will beat Gray's 800k campaign. Most of it will go to his bar tab.

  5. LOL. I like the new site, not bad.

  6. Get rid of the E-Tax.
    Quit funding Political Corruption.
Redo the E-Tax so it's used the KCMO infrastructure.

  7. Pat Gray is a loser with his top adviser being John Carnes. Kiss your money goodbye.

    ReplyDelete
  8. he could have made it less lackluster by using more traditional vibrant colors, like red, white and blue. or green. or just blue. and what does a heartbeat have to do with the earnings tax anyway?

  9. I think the site is pretty cool.

  10. did the health levy pass?

  11. Got Your Attention ?1/30/11, 7:29 AM

Actually, ALL of the metro residents who live outside of KCMO (that would be 1.5 million of the 2 million total, the folks TKC calls "interlopers", are the only thing that keeps what's left of KCMO from flatlining. And, as usual, the campaign is not about supporting a winner; it's all the whining about propping up a lose. Not exactly something that gets your blood moving.
Why should people who don't live there pay for KCMO residents to have their garbage picked up? They already pay for their own.
KCMO has suffered for many years by being run by the same old people and in the same old insider way, and the only way to change it is with a twoXfour on the side of the head.
The e-tax going down will be the bst thing that happened to this mess in a very long time.

  12. I agree. Same old scare tactics. Let the city die. Residents of Kc should carry the load.

  13. Pat Gray.

Perfect. Ya may as well have Sasha Grey run this thing.

    With Charlie fuckin Sheen.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Goddamn I'm a grouchy old man!

  15. The E-Tax has supported the Corrupt politicians in Kansas City long enough.

    Get rid of the E-Tax.
    Get rid of corruption.
The corrupt politicians get they power form the E-Tax.

  16. Chuck you are right. IF it was Sasha Grey then at least we would have more energy and enthusiasm. That woman can take on 4 guys show we all know she can deal with idiots at the Chamber who chose Pat Gray.

By the way, I am not jealous. I work in a real advertising firm. Not out of my house in Leawood.

  17. If it wins it works. Pat Grey won the Health Levy and he will win this.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Pat Gray is a worn out drunk who will screw this campaign up. Look at the latest mail piece he sent out for Rowland.A real cheap and terrible mailer same slogans .

    ReplyDelete
  19. I liked the Rowland mailer. Although I will not vote for his sorry ass, because he said he was a Rockhurst faggot.

  20. Fuck KC Politics is just like high school.

    ReplyDelete
  21. 8:43 - that's an understatement. this blog is pretty high school, too.

    ReplyDelete
  22. He is not going to run it as a campaign against a rich man from St. Louis? That's about all the Star's campaign can come up with.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Even worn out drunks have mortgages! Especially in Leawood. In KCMO it's not who does the best job; it's which one of the insiders gets chosen to get the money!
Just think about it: The Chamber is so clueless that it thinks Pat Gray will help them get the pulse of the community!
