TKC BREAKING NEWS!!! KANSAS CITY PAYS FOR COUNCIL LADY SHARON SANDERS BROOKS' LEGAL BILLS IN A 3RD DISTRICT FIGHT THAT ATTEMPTS TO KEEP MICHAEL FLETCHER OUT OF THE ELECTION!!!

Recent allegations of corruption in the 3rd District Election are some of the worst Kansas City has seen in years.

This morning 3rd District Candidate Michael Fletcher is filing a lawsuit against Kansas City, here is the backstory from Mr. Fletcher so you can read it for yourself:

"On Thursday January 22, the City filed an answer on behalf of Sharon Sanders Brooks arising out of my (Michael Fletcher's) lawsuit against her. The City is accepting responsibility for SSB's actions because they claim "she was acting in her capacity as a City of Kansas City, Missouri City Council Member and public official" because she was passing out literature for the monthly Third District and gathering nominating petition signatures."

Read the intro to Mr. Fletcher's  lawsuit against SSB for yourself that arose over a confrontation while handing out election materials. 

"Thus Galen Beaufort has now obligated the City to pay any damages entered against SSB, including punitive damages AND all of her legal fees, which will be tens of thousands of dollars because they claim she was handing out literature."

This is important: "SSB and Galen Beaufort have agreed to give her thousands of dollars of free legal service AND expose the city to a huge punitive damage award under highly unethical circumstances."



The hotly contested 3rd District Race gets even worse given some poorly timed and contradictory attempts to remove Mr. Fletcher from the ballot.



Here's a quote from Mr. Fletcher on regarding questions over his private tax records:

"On Friday January 23, the Commissioner of Revenue for KCMO, Mary Ruck, called me (Michael Fletcher) and advised that she had been ordered by the Deputy Dir. Of Finance, Wanda Gunter, to review all of my tax filings with the City. She admitted that Ms. Gunter ordered her to do this on "Monday or Tuesday" and that she, Ms Ruck "could not identify any other city council or mayoral candidate who the CIty had also reviewd their tax records"

CONCLUSION: "They targeted Michal Fletcher for selective investigation, literally, days before the filing deadline in order to protect SSB and, frankly, Galen!!!"

 TKC NOTE: The emphasis, red type and exclamation points on that one belong to me but it's important to point that out because it's the crux of this very damaging argument against KC Proper.

"Ms. Ruck said that the November 9, 2010, Clearance Letter "could be withdrawn" because the City had now filed suit against me (Michael Fletcher) for allegedly not paying all of the interest on my 2007 Earnings Tax. I (Michael Fletcher) asked her how it was possible for one set of records to show that I owed no taxes or interest and yet another file allegedly show that I did."

IN A STUNNING DISPLAY OF TRANSPARENCY MICHAEL FLETCHER IS SHARING HIS E-TAX RECORDS WITH TKC READERS IN ORDER TO PROVE THAT HE IS UP TO DATE WITH PAYMENTS!!!

Also, for the record, if TKC was making this kind of cheddar, I'd have t-shirts printed with these receipts and I'd wear them every day.

The following document confirms the "payment/credit" with KCMO letterhead.



Finally . . . Mr. Fletcher offers his W2 form that not only confirms he took down more than a rock ($1 Million Bucks) in 2007 (¡Salud!) but also that he paid out more than $10k worth of E-tax. Nice.



Accordingly, Mr. Fletcher earned his clearance to appear on the Kansas City, Missouri ballot for the election.



But that was before it became obvious that Sharon Sanders Brooks was not a viable candidate and Mr. Fletcher has garnered overwhelming support in the 3rd District.

To wit . . .

THIS DOCUMENTATION OFFERED TO TKC READERS NOT ONLY ANSWERS QUESTIONS OVER MR. FLETCHER'S E-TAX BUT ALSO HIS RESIDENCY!!!

Years ago, it's obvious Mr. Fletcher was paying into KC as most sucker residents do. So here's the result of this mess in the words of Mr. Fletcher that also calls into question the ethics of the so-called paper-of-record:

"We will now have to file suit against KCMO seeking an injunction from them denying me (Michael Fletcher) certification. Another legal mater that is going to show that 1.) SSB and Beaufort have committed felonies by initiating a legal proceeding for political purposes and 2.) that SSB and Beaufort contacted Lynn Horsley at the KC STAR and advised her that I was being sued. Horsley stated that "They could not serve you" and I said the City of KCMO may not discuss my personal tax matters with a reporter but they obviously did do so."

What's most shameful and frustrating for TKC . . .

WHAT'S HAPPENING HERE IS AN AFFRONT AND AN INSULT TO KANSAS CITY VOTERS WHO SIGNED THE STANDARD ELECTION PETITIONS AND WANT THEIR CANDIDATE ON THE BALLOT!!!

It gets worse . . .

MR. FLETCHER'S ALLEGATIONS AND THE PROOF HE HAS PROVIDED PUT KANSAS CITY'S ELECTION PROCESS INTO QUESTION AND DEMONSTRATE THAT IT'S POSSIBLE FOR AN INCUMBENT TO USE CITY SERVICES TO THWART A CHALLENGER AND POTENTIALLY TAKE AN OPPONENT OFF THE BALLOT!!!

Thankfully, because this effort is as incompetent and sloppy as everything else that has happened at City Hall over the past four years - It's doomed to failure. Michael Fletcher will be on the ballot in the 3rd District.

But the potential precedent is dangerous.

Therefore, Mr. Fletcher's fight isn't just about his quest to win political office because, obviously, he could quickly write a check to make up just about any E-Tax discrepancy. Instead, what we're looking at is really a fight against corruption and any move that could challenge the will of 3rd District voters.
