The Forward Kansas City Mayoral Race presentations and debates are tonight and Wednesday.
Forward Kansas City is a Northland Political Concern . . .
For those who don't know much about their rep:
Forward Kansas City Threatened A Lawsuit Over Recent Council Redistricting.
There was also a bit of chatter from Forward KC that they were thinking about seceding from KC Proper.
Most importantly, last election The Star called Forward Kansas City irrelevant. I don't really like that term when it comes to political movements but the insult was over Former Council Dude John Fairfield placing so poorly in the Kansas City Mayoral Race and not even winning his own District.
On the bright side, this is a chance for Hermann to speak to her base . . . And the biggest surprise to me in the early part of the Mayoral Race is that Deb Hermann is a rather great public speaker and perfectly capable of holding the attention of the crowd. She's taken her knocks about education and style but it's clear to me that her ability to communicate comes from years of community and neighborhood involvement. She really is quite eloquent.
To wit, none of the other Mayoral Candidates Stand A Chance At This Forum . . . The best they can do is make a good showing and if Deb doesn't win (doubtful) then she might want to pack it in . . . However, like most things political in Kansas City . . . The outcome is pretty much a foregone conclusion with a lot of smiling and quiet frustration in the background.

Never thought of that, if she doesn't win she won't stand a chance but if she does win then Forward KC is nothing but Tim Kristl's drinking buddies.

ReplyDeleteWhen is the debbate between the unknown people of Forward Kansas City and the swells of the Citizens' Association to see which of these organizations utterly unknown to the public is the more important?

How about the Funk. The northlanders seem to love him. The northland got him elected. What do they know?

ReplyDeleteIf the northland goes there own way will you take west 57th terr with you south of the river.The northland I would hope is smarter than they behave. The notion of seceding is redicules. We are an entire city. Get it right this time around or you may have support south of the river to go your own way.

ReplyDeleteThe Northland dropped Funk when Funk dropped Semler - bigotry is the easiest way to a Northlander's heart. Bigotry is why they migrated to the Northland.
Greed is the secondary motivating factor for Hominus Northlandthalis, and that is what gives Deb the inside track to capture the Nordfolk.
