Now, Byrd is certainly a Northland player, an alleged homie of Kansas City Political GOP Machiavelli Jeff Roe. Close KC Political watchers might remember him from the Tomahawke Ridge Annexation debate.
Whatever the case, this move to retain Council demonstrates that the Northland is SERIOUS when they talk about lawsuit against Kansas City to keep the redistricting process moving forward BEFORE the next election.

ReplyDeleteLawyer Chris Byrd is pretty good. But it makes it all look like a Northland Republican move. That won't do them much good with the largely Democrat Council and the rest of the city.

OK, are Chris, Deb, Tim and the northland mafia going to sue the state because they have not jumped in and re-districted all the State Rep and Senate Districts up north which have to be as impacted by population growth as council districts?? NO, just go after those southlanders and the damn minorities. Deb Herman may only have a high school education, but she cannot be that stupid to throw it all away on this fight. New census figures will be out in only 5 more months.

ReplyDeleteGetting a few neighborhood leaders into her fold will not wipe out the multiple errors she made on Funkhouser's behalf. All of those votes to support Funkhouser's antics, Looking the other way when Funkhouser started trashing people. Her strongest council ally and now biggest campaign supporter is Bill Skaggs. The same Bill Skaggs who sued us for Funkhouser. Her behind the scenes bff is Aggie Stackedhouse. I suppose Aggie is trying to get Jim Nutter to pay for Deb's campaign. I hope the gentleman rethinks his role. Too late to clean up that pile of dog shit.

Let's correct some ignorent untruths shall we? Deb has a high school diploma. She did not carry water for Funk. Glorioso is attempting to call all the shots on redistricting and is in fact behind the charter change, working through puppet Jan.
ReplyDeleteThis is not about north and south, black or white. It's about federal law that states if your districts are more than 10% out of balance, you must redistrict before another election. The first and second district are out of balance. To not redistrict violates the law. If an election is held, a judge could nullify the results. So do you want Funk back? Because you could get him back if an election is ruled null and void.
It would be helpful if people learned the basics before making decisions and comments.
Aggie is hardly Deb's bff, and really they aren't friends at all. Aggie blew most of her friendships with her crazy antics and ever-open mouth. What an embarrassment to our city.
