More than any other City Council Candidate in Kansas City, Tracy Ward led the local movement against TSA groping over the Thanksgiving Holiday.
It's nice to hear somebody interested in local government speak on issues beyond mere pleasantries regarding infrastructure that never get accomplished.
In the aftermath of the hot mess, I asked Ward for her summation of the week in air travel.
Here's what she had to say:
"Why aren't people asking WHO authorized this encroachment of not only one's liberties, but also their dignity? Why are people so ready to give that up in the name of safety?
"Safety isn't a tangible thing, you can't hold it, taste it, touch it, it's an emotion.
We have to STOP putting our feelings ahead of our rights, freedoms and dignity.
"When was the last time the government TSA actually "saved" us from the terrorists? The terrorists have won and by invading us, but by our allowing our own government to invade us."

Saying she couldnt do better than the current crop is not an excuse to lower the bar. Besides she is not running against the current crop, she is running against 3 other candidates all better prepared for this challenge. She might raise 10k from the unholy alliance of norml activists and anti-etax crowd but a citywide race is 100k to get to round two. Not going to happen.
Let her and her handlers, they know who they are, keep using tony to press this false narrative.
