TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! KANSAS CITY'S CATHOLIC MAYORAL CONNECTION!!!

Here's a rather nice tidbit about the upcoming election which reminds us that local politicos have souls after all. Check it . . .

Political insiders already know this one but most folks following the upcoming election might not be aware of the long term connection between Mayoral Candidate Mike Burke and Veteran Political Consultant Pat O'Neill . . . Apparently, they're nearly life-long friends and the line that I keep hearing is that "they used to serve as altar boys together." It's a nice story and speaks of a long-term connection to Kansas City.

However . . . Because I'm a bastard, I can't leave the story there and I have to contrast it to images of Gloria Squitiro using her New Age smudge stick at City Hall.

Obviously, Holy Wars have no place in Kansas City politics but with so many people concerned that Mayor Funky might sneak back into City Hall . . . I have to wonder if any reasonable person would pick the antics of the Funkhouser Administration over any other viable option. The dichotomy between two former altar boys vs. the Co-Mayors promoting some weird-ass Shaman provides a clear look at how any comparison might break down.

Nutter hates Burke. Nutter never believed in the TIF crap that Burke pushed.

(Yes Diana)Pat O'Neill is Nutter's boy on most issues, but not on this one. Pat has sold out the old man to go with Burke. It s clear that O'Neill is looking at Nutter, near death, in St. Lukes and saying "where is my gravy train after the old man dies."

Pat O'Neill is all about money. He has not loyalty outside of cash.

  6. Citizen Assn connection goes back to the days when they charged $30k for endorsement per election and not the measely $2500 they are reported to get nowadays.
