Today TKC owns The Star because I'm posting important information from KICKASS TKC TIPSTERS regarding this town's finances while they're featuring mostly fake photos of reader submitted hotties on their front page.
Unfortunately, the sense of entitlement, arrogance and laziness at The Star have once again allowed TKC TIPSTERS to beat the crap of them when it comes to serious financial issues that impact all of Kansas City . . . Today The Star is better at covering the anniversary of the Moon landing for their aging demographic or pouting about how their business model is currently under siege by the Internet. I guess that goes for The Pitch too . . . But I kind of feel sorry for those guys given that the user generated content from LikeMe.net is going to lead to the unemployment of most of their writers faster than Nadia "For the love of God, I'm running around town with a white guy now so you can't call me a chickenhead" Pflaum can throw a temper tantrum.
Anyhoo . . . Here's the important part:
KANSAS CITY COULD OWE MORE THAN $30 MILLION TO THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION (EDC) AND THE BLAME GAME AS TO WHERE THE MONEY WENT IS ABOUT TO GET REALLY INTERESTING!!!
AMAZING TKC TIPSTERS provide some insight into the missing loot that might need to be paid back with a quickness:
Funds came in and they were supposed to be turned over to the EDC. Instead, money slated for the EDC was used for The General Fund probably at the direction of
As developers present bills with allowable expenses to the EDC to be reimbursed, those funds are supposed to be used for that purpose. But, they weren't there. Consequently, developers have not been getting paid.
The EDC and Kansas City are still on the line for that money.
In the next few days some company names and figures will finally emerge from the MSM. But remember that TKC TIPSTERS were the first to bring NEWS of the latest KC financial hot mess to Kansas City as The Star waits for stories to fall into their lap . . . TKC TIPSTERS are busy taking note of what's really happening at City Hall.
This much is clear:
This whole hot mess is still Developing . . . While the lazy jerks at The Star who deserve to be fired are twiddling their thumbs and making sure the whole City knows that DeAnn Smith now at NBC Action News did most of their research and is murdering them every day since when it comes to directing the discourse of Kansas City . . . And, with the help of TKC TIPSTERS, I also do pretty good on that front as well or at least put more effort into it than print media d-bags who provide more than enough proof that their medium deserves to die. Natch.
Hot.
ReplyDeleteThe next financial diaster is having meeting today the Convention Center Hotel Steering Committee at 3:00, Room 2205 at the KC Convention Center.
ReplyDeletetrue dat.
ReplyDeleteAll the more reason why we couldn't and shouldn't possibly have tried to pony up 20 million big ones to hand over to some local developer to fix up a commercial/retail complex anywhere in the city.
ReplyDeleteIt's stunning this bonehead idea got as far as it did.
Scary.

I can't have sympathy for either the EDC (whose bastard child is the TIF) or the City. Together they have pissed away tax dollars to the wealthy developers. This infighting that we are witnessing is the result of the whole scheme backfiring on the both of them.
ReplyDelete#12. i already forwarded the "who's hot?" link to friends. #12. omg. now i have to go empty my wastebasket, which is now full of my regurgitated lunch.
ReplyDeleteSome of you nuts just don't get it. The present tax base never changes it is still paid, only half of any new incoming tax goes to the developer. And that half goes to rebuild the infrastructure, roads, etc that never would have been rebuilt without it. The other half besides the original tax base still goes where it always did presuming city hall doesn't squander it away as it appears they have this time. I don't know why I would waste my time with this, those of you who are too hard headed to see it, don't want to see it.
ReplyDeletewha?
ReplyDeleteTo Anon 1:44 - I don't care how you spin it. If someone earns $100 and they bill you $110 and YOU PAY THE OVERCHARGE, you have pissed away $10. That is what has happened on the TIF projects.
ReplyDeletethe 1:44 nut does not take into account that the TIF usually takes money from the stores that were paying 100% taxes to the city not 50%. Then when the businesses that were paying 100% values goes down their property taxes are reduced. So no one really gains when taxes are shifted not increased. look at the IRS move they were paying $500,000 to the city when they were at 95th bannister then went downtown to a tif development now only $250,000 goes to city is that what 1:44 nut thinks is a good deal.
