The scope and size of the deal is epic.
Allen will become the highest-paid defensive player in NFL history. His new contract will be for six years and just shy of $74 million. Allen told Fox this includes $31,000,069 guaranteed - Allen's jersey number is 69That last 69 bucks is just a bit indicative that Allen's only loyalty was to himself and not this town - Not that I blame him one bit, anyone with half a brain would pack up from Kansas City post-haste for that kind of cash.
For me, this news is great because I called this deal a couple of days ago (heh) AND now every bad thing I've ever said about Allen will be repeated by local sports columnist around the nation.
TKC's finer talking points which will undoubtedly be put forth by so-called sports experts:
A fact that will go unmentioned is that he was Kansas City's great white hope. The white people of this town embraced Allen like he was a member of their own family and it's fitting that the love and adoration of so many folks in this cowtown wasn't worth the many millions from a crappy place like Minnesota.
Actually, in his last move as a Chief, TKC wishes Allen the very best and I hope he has a long and happy career because he finally created some agreement for TKC's longstanding contention that the guy was unworthy of so much praise AND the fact that the Chiefs are (and always will be) a mediocre organization.
The important question is why should I care?
ReplyDeleteCan we trade TKC to Minnesota as well. He sure isn't happy here.
ReplyDeleteI love it when Tony over-estimates his own importance....
ReplyDeleteLike it or not guys Tony was the only person online to say that Jared would be gone by the end of the week. He was right.
ReplyDeleteGo away Jared Allen. I am tired of you. You were never my type. You made me disgusted every time I saw you do that eye-thing on the score board instead of looking tough. Furthermore, I have never seen you strolling around the Plaza in over-sized but o-so-cute workout wear matched with dress shoes -- where is your fashion sense? How could I ever have someone like you represent the team and ME when my heroes like Dick Cheney came to town? Go away and take all those tackles with you.
ReplyDelete(You know, has anyone checked to see whether we play the Vikings over the next 5 years? If we do please do not tell Brodie because it might not go well for him. After all I like my teams to play without an offensive line because it is cheaper.)
Tony didn't predict....everyone and there dog new Jared Allen would be traded before the draft for draft picks.
ReplyDeleteWe get it already. He likes the 69 position. Glad to get this douchebag out of town. Maybe next we can get that herpes dispensary known as his bar to shut its doors as well
ReplyDeleteTKC, I think that you are not sympathetic enough as to how difficult this news is for KC's jocksniffer community.
ReplyDeleteTony was the only one saying Jared was leaving? Can you prove that carlito? And so what if he was. In the end Tony's post isn't really about Jared but just another opportunity to stretch a story beyond its relevance to trash his usual targets.
ReplyDeleteJarred Allen is a great player and a good guy. It's a business and he, as he should, made a business decision. This was a great trade for the Chiefs and Allen. Unfortunately, Carl doesn't know how to draft.
ReplyDeleteIn related news... Incidents of domestic violence and widespread rioting reported in Raytown.
ReplyDeleteI say good riddance to bad rubbish. We had plenty of drunk-driving hillbilly half-wits before Allen came to town. I can only hope that some of his more devoted fans follow him to the land of a trillion lakes (and fall into some of them).
Yours truly,
John Brown
NFL Defensive Player of the Year, 1974
You didnt predict anything you second rate bum! This was national news on espn.com well over a week ago. It was something that was mentioned at the end of the regular season. You are completely irrelevant as far as news go. I only read to see what half witted reverse rtacist BS you spew from day to day. What's really sad is there are like 6 people in town who actually think you are good.
ReplyDeleteSomebody is jealous. ;)
ReplyDeleteI see nothing wrong with KC trading Allen. Look at how many has benz KC has kept or signed as free agents. 1st rounder for a guy with 2 DUI's..plus would u give a guy with 2 strikes a guarantee 30 million?
ReplyDeleteWe should have included LJ for Adrain Peterson straight across.

Trading LJ would also be a good move but I think teams are alot more conservative when it comes to the offense. Great point.
ReplyDeleteToo late to get a refund on season tickets?
ReplyDeleteIts hard for Tony not to be jealous.
ReplyDelete"Like it or not guys Tony was the only person online to say that Jared would be gone by the end of the week. "
ReplyDeleteWTF?
THe chiefs would have still lost with him here
