Kansas City Dead Tree Media Smartphone Amber Alert Swagger Jacking And Propaganda

Kansas City Dead Tree Media one again proves itself without many original ideas, insights or useful information for tech savvy readers.

Accordingly . . .

Here's today's Kansas City smartphone propaganda from the newspaper:

Newspaper: Amber Alert tone on phones can startle, but it can help rescue children

The supposition and editorial slant of this Dead Tree Media article is obvious.

However, our blog community has been calling out this drama lately with more than a bit of bold criticism and insight in tough circumstances . . . And then when we noted obvious Amber Alert abuse.

Moreover . . .

WHAT'S WORSE IS THAT KANSAS CITY DEAD TREE MEDIA DOESN'T EVEN BOTHER TO TELL READERS THAT THEY HAVE A CHOICE AND THEY CAN TURN AMBER ALERTS OFF ON THEIR SMARTPHONES!!!

Accordingly . . .

THIS IS JUST ANOTHER EXAMPLE OF WILLFUL TECH IGNORANCE THAT'S EVENTUALLY GOING TO KILL THE KANSAS CITY STAR!!!

One more time, here's the simplest link to take control of a smartphone away from the media . . .

CNET: How to turn off emergency alerts on your phone

And once again, we remind folks that this blog is all about letting people decide for themselves as TKC fights for the users.

Natch.

If cell phones cause brain cancer, it makes sense that they might also cause tit cancer...

I need my alerts on. Friends status updates, what people are eating for lunch. Where they are having a beer. The important stuff.

I'm over 50 years old, have only had a "smart" phone for 3 months and I managed to turn off that stupid Amber Alert in less than 5 minutes. I didn't need The Star, TKC, CNET or my kids - I just did it. I also noticed that there are other alerts you can turn off but there's a Presidential Alert that you can't turn off. I wonder what that one's for?

I'm over 50 and forgot I had it on my Smart Phone. I don't turn it off because I generally like kids.

I'm over 50 and I don't have to figure out how to turn off amber alerts. Who the hell would buy a phone and pay good money for that shit.
