TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! WE HEAR THAT HOLSMAN HAS CATHY JOLLY'S BLESSING FOR THE KANSAS CITY SIXTH DISTRICT AT-LARGE COUNCIL SEAT!!!

So, KICKASS TKC TIPSTERS were the first folks to break the news about Missouri Rep. Jason Holsman running to replace Cathy Jolly in the Kansas City 6th District At-Large City Council Race since she called it quits.

Now, AWESOME TIPSTERS have more information about developments in this race:

"Cathy Jolly has been secretly soliciting support for Jason Holsman from her cohorts in Labor, we have it on good account that she has already approached Lodge 99 of the Fraternal Order of Police for them to support him. He is still gonna run for State Rep., win the seat and then turnaround and run for City Council. This was all discussed at the Downtown Political Action Committee endorsements last night. She is warming up to local 42 now."

Now, some folks have a problem with Holsman basically running for two seats at a time . . . Frankly, just on general principal TKC will never oppose a dude doubling up.

For my money, I'm encouraged by Holsman's stand against NFL Blackouts and encouraged by more people interested in Kansas City at the Council Level.

Comments

  1. I hear Cathy Jolly is stamping her feet now that the Missouri Supreme Court accepted transfer of Rachel Townsend's case yesterday for Kanatzers job. Bleat, bleat, squeak! Waahhh!

  2. Good. Holsman is a work horse. We need someone on the council who actually gets things done instead of the constant bickering. Like him or not, the guy is a force of nature.

  3. Holsman is not running for two elections at the same time, the house race concludes before filing opens for the municipal race. Close to be sure, but not the same time.

  4. I hope he realizes that city government is about business licenses and street repair, not NFL blackouts.
We need a real workhorse on the council and maybe even one with some serious ideas. But lining up the same special interests and an endorsement from Cathy Jolly doesn't do much for me.

  5. Cathy Jolly = fail.

  6. I heard while he was in Jefferson City, Holsman killed a man then drank his blood. Do we really want a homicidal vampire at city hall? Vote for me! I would never drink someone else's blood.

  8. Late by about six to eight weeks. Is Mike Talboy not tipping you off anymore?

  9. I think tony should consider requesting more information from his commenters. This blog is becoming the blog of record. For good reason. Tony is as close to gonzo journalism as we have and as his readership grows so does his responsibilty. Its one thing to post strong and even emotional opinions in an anonymous fashion which offers a thin veil to the community, its is entirely something else to post reputation destroying smears and utterly uncivilized racist language. No public figure should have to endure being refered to as the n- word as happened in a sly post over the weekend. The bottomline is sensationalism doesnt have to protect defamation. If readers were required to provide the administrator to the blog their name and email then provided a screen name, its altogether possible for tony to have a mainstream impact. Otherwise in some ways we are all denegrated by the extremity.

  10. Much better options than the pink-haired libertarian freak. Tilting at red light cameras and nuclear plants does not a candidacy make.

Tracy is not a freak! She is a nice person who cares about the erosion of her liberty. You should be glad she is on that wall so you can take your freedom for granted. Let her protest.

Is she prepared to be a city councilperson? Nope. Not even close. In all sincerity she is naive to run, but it is her right. She doesn't deserved to be called a freak for exercising it.

  12. Holsman takes the baton of being a Moneyed Interest Tool from Jolly.

    Just another career politician.

Career politician? Good. I sure as hell hope so. I wouldn't call a bartender to crack open my fucking chest to perform bypass surgery.

Let's hope all our elected officials are educated and trained with public administration skills.

These T-baggers across the country make me want to push myself off a fucking skyscraper. Ok I get it, you like freedom, super, but what do you know of derivative markets and their impact on global invesment as it relates United States tarrif agreements? Aw shucks, I just know the good people of Jackson County believe in freedom as much as I do, its what makes this country the best and most freest country in the world. You betcha.

I'll take a well educated professional politician over simple minded platitudes.

  14. Good for Kansas City if the guy does run. He is a hard worker and would be a welcome change to our god awful council.

  15. My prediction:

    Holsman - 55%
    Tarwater - 25%
    Brown - 17%
    Eddy - 3%

(I really, really hope Eddy runs. The man kills me. He spent appx $150K in the mayor's race and got 815 votes. That is $184 per vote. It would have been more efficient and productive for him to simply put $100 bills in voters' hands than pay for that monstrosity of a billboard on 71.)

  16. Can someone please explain the "freedoms" that are being eroded and by whom that Tracy Ward wants to defend?
    Thanks

  17. Tracy Ward sounds like a Tea Partier. She is defending very important freedoms, like the freedom to run a red light and not pay a ticket. I forget which constitutional amendment granted the right to run red lights, but I am sure it is in there somewhere.

  18. You're right, Tracy IS a freak! Who else stands out and protests against what City Hall is doing to the citizens of the city?
Holsman is just the average politico who will end up costing taxpayers if he wins that state seat and still runs for the council seat.
Tracy may be a freak, but I'd still vote for her over what we already have in City Hall.
