  2. I had never heard of Holsman before last week, but having taken a minute to visit his website and look at the bills he has sponsored. This is a serious person who has some creative ideas. I don't agree with everything he's sponsored, but I do appreciate the depth of his legislation. Why the hell does he want to go to the city? Seems like a waste of talent. The city is where careers go to die. Look at everyone currently on the council and Mayor. How does someone go from taking on the NFL to taking on potholes? Look at these bills and tell me this is a person who wants to fight over zoning ordinances. I will be shocked if he leaves the state for city government.

    Holsman run for Mayor.

    Here's why:
    1. No one has caught fire
    2. You have a base
    3. Money matters less in an 8 way primary
    4. The south is wide open and the north is divided
    5. You have to run a citywide race to replace Cathy. Same amount of work for less pay and no veto power
    6. The business community is not happy with any of the current choices
    7. Funk didn't declare until late november last time and quickly established himself as the alternative to everyone's disatisfaction - the same is happening this cycle
    8. You passed bills in the minority party, that takes skill, we need a professional Mayor to recruit new business or more importantly make our current business owners feel good about staying in Kansas City
    9. You taught in the Kansas City Missouri School District and a key component of turning this city around will be changing the district's image

    10. If the worst thing your opponents can say is your a womanizer, anything short of a stained blue dress or Spitzer credit card bills and those comments never leave the anonymous blogoshpere unless someone is searching for a defamation suit.

You are young and have school age children. If we are ever to bring young families back to Kansas City, they have to see it to believe it.

You can win. The people are starved for leadership. If you have the guts to take on the NFL, the city will be a breeze. Think about it. If you run I will help you and so will a lot of other people like me.

  8. Have you ever talked with Holsman? He's just another politician.

  9. More feel good legislation in the spirit of his mentor Cathy Jolly.

  10. Jaason Holzman has serious baggage which apparently can be proved. Have you ever talked with him? I really don't know how he got anything done in Jeff.City. He is both dumb and arrogant, not a good combination. Someone else had to be doing his homework.

  11. Holsman is not running for Mayor.

Talked with him this morning. He said he's not ready and needs to learn more about how the city operates.

As far as city council goes, he said he was running for re-election to his House seat and wouldn't comment on future plans until filing for the seat opens.

Holsman may be a lot of things but he is anything but dumb. I think he will run for city council, will win the seat and do a damn good job.
