The concerts aren't for Kansas City

Kansas City hosts the arena, taxes in KC pay for the arena. However, it's too bad nobody from Kansas City has a shot at getting tickets to a concert at The Sprint Center given that Ticketmaster, other forms of scalpers and JoCo folks make it nearly impossible to buy your way into the place.

Admittedly, I don't know who in the hell Hannah Montana is . . . But I do know that ONCE AGAIN KC taxes going to support the leisure activities of middle class Johnson County folks and few people from KC proper actually get to enjoy the amenities for which this town pays.

Put simply, it's the Truman Sports Complex all over again, only this time with glass made in China and no anchor (mediocre) sports tenant of which to speak.

  1. I still belive that KC is a city on the downslide, but this may be a Ticketmaster thing. The Commercial Appeal in Memphis has basically the same article.

  2. I don't see where in that article it says that "JoCo folks" had anything to do with the sell-out.

And I also fail to understand the wall you'd like to put up between Johnson County and Kansas City proper. I like to think of it as all being one city, really. But I'm weird like that, I s'pose...

  3. Simply put, Tony wants to bite the hand that helps feed Kansas City.

  4. He's just upset he didn't get a ticket. I know achy'breaky' heart daughter will miss Tony in the audience amongst all those 11 year olds and tweens....eew?

    The Horror....the....Horror......

and if you frequent TKC..you KNOW he has to throw in jabs and hot buttons in all articles..unless it's a local model..then the jabs (no homo) are more like 'hugs;.

  5. Anonymous, although I don't agree with TKC I fail to see how Joco is feeding Kansas City anything, but shitty drivers and people looking for something fun to do besides the strip mall bar.

  6. Didn't I read an article a while back in the wsjournal about this phenomenon. It is more profitable to buy up all the tickets and then sell a few at a super high price and let the rest go empty, or maybe dump them at the last minute. Kind of an 'artificial scarcity' scam? WTF does this have to do with OP? Speaking of how is it out there, I never go...

  7. This wouldn't have happened under Albert Brooks.

  8. Frankly, I'm glad they're finding a way to keep the KCMO riff-raff out of respectable events like this.

I mean really, who wants a bunch of Missouri mouth-breathers around bringing down the average IQ when they should be out cleaning streets and asking customers if they want fries with that.

Hell, that city can't even figure out how to get rid of its sewage. No wonder the smartest schools are trying to get out of KCMO.

Nope, if you ask me, I'd say TicketMaster is doing a favor for all of us upright non-KCMO, citizens. Kudos to them.

  9. If JoCo disappeared today, KCMO would shrivel up and die within a month.

  11. Tony, all you do is fucking whine about the project. Why don't you contribute something to the discussion instead of the same tired fucking crybaby whining?

Maybe make a few suggestions? Maybe quit running your mouth like a fucking expert? If you have ideas, great. Let's hear them.

If you don't, then shut it.

  12. It's not just Sprint or Ticketmaster, well Okay it's mostly Ticketmaster. Or wait, It's the people. It's society. It's the money grubbing pieces of trash that use the Net to profit at someone else expense. Tickets on Ebay... You god damn scumbags, America.

As for KC vs. JoCo. Yes JoCo, your shit stinks just as bad, but downtown Kansas City needs to be nuked. It's the ghetto trash that ruin this city.

  13. Don't forget that the Missouri legislature gave baby Blunt a Lewinsky and legalized scalping to help Ticketmaster.

  14. Darn, I won't be able to get tickets to Nickleback, Elton John or other big areana douchery.

  15. that's arena

  16. If JoCo dissapeared today, the rest of us would throw a big god damn party.

    Take your plastic bullshit elsewhere.
