Kansas City Triple Shooting At Penn Valley Park Leaves One Dead

We're calling this a triple shooting because, according to police reports, two more gunfire victims turned up at local hospitals following the incident.

Again . . . This report is important because it notes that the violence was a SEPARATE INCIDENT from another East side report of deadly violence and a ruckus in Brookside as well.

Here is the report KCPD share with local media . . .

Homicide-29th and Penn Valley Dr.

On 11/1/2026 around 1:15AM officers were dispatched to 29th and Penn Valley Drive in Penn Valley Park on a reported shooting.

Upon arrival, officers observed an adult male victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Officers performed lifesaving measures until the arrival of EMS who transported the victim to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased. While on scene, two additional male shooting victims arrived at area hospitals believed to be related. One victim suffered from life-threatening injuries and the additional victim was listed as stable with non-life-threatening injuries.

There is not currently any preliminary information indicating what led up to shots being fired. Officers and detectives are working to identify any subjects of interest, or additional persons involved.

Homicide detectives and crime scene personnel have responded to the scene to begin collecting evidence and gathering any available witness statements. The investigation is ongoing.

If anyone was in the area and heard or saw anything or has any information, they are asked to contact Homicide detectives directly at 816-234-5043 or the TIPS Hotline anonymously at 816-474-TIPS. There is a reward of up to $25,000 for information submitted anonymously to the TIPS hotline.

We are committed to assisting victims of violent crimes through the use of Missouri’s Protection Program for Victims/Witnesses of Violent Crime. Funding for temporary, or even permanent relocation, may be available but is subject to pre-approval by the State’s administering agency.
