Taproom Blames Independence 'Harassment' For Shutdown

Small biz closing comes with hard feelings all the way around . . . Here's a peek at the story of a nearby brewhaus taking issues with city regs and acknowledging that the NEXTGEN doesn't really drink as much as their parents.

In its closing post, Fringe attributed the closure to a few different issues: the city, leasing issues and general problems surrounding the craft beer industry.

“Though we have attempted to reach additional markets with our delicious libations, the assistance we have received from the city of Independence has been underwhelming, city liquor controls downright harassments, and old/new landlord disputes with their unwillingness to negotiate on behalf of their tenants, leaves us no choice,” the brewery wrote.
