Of course the city college puts the blame on Republican DEI crackdowns and other conservative conspiracies.
But we've seen a great deal of intolerance from "many sides" of the discourse that we're skeptical about students losing rights to express themselves . . . Even if we'll stipulate that finding cheap parking or walking through campus at night has likely becoming increasingly challenging every semester.
Nevertheless . . .
Here's the word:
"UMKC fell 24 spots in college free speech rankings from last year, according to a national poll from the Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression's (FIRE). FIRE is a non-profit group dedicated to protecting free speech on college campuses.
"In a national poll, the non-profit civil liberties group Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression (FIRE) reported that the university is now No. 81 in campus free speech climates."
