"The Raytown Board of Alderman voted not to impeach Alderwoman Latrice Thomas, allowing her to officially reclaim her office after a year-long dispute. Though Thomas was sworn in representing the 3rd Ward in April 2025, the Missouri Department of Revenue claimed the next day that she was ineligible due to delinquent taxes. She was removed from her duties in late June 2025 by the Mayor, but she was later subjected to an impeachment hearing on eight counts of malfeasance for voting while allegedly unqualified. Ultimately, only five of the nine board members voted to impeach her, falling one vote short of the statutory majority needed to remove her from office."
