Voters in Kansas City, Missouri, overwhelmingly recently approved a historic 474 million dollar school bond for Kansas City Public Schools (KCPS) and nine partner charter schools in order to restore old building and improve infrastructure.
Now . . .
"Two weeks ago, the Kansas City Public Schools board voted to move ahead with the sale of the property to Sunflower Development, whose plan calls for demolishing the 111-year-old school and replacing it with 14 large single-family houses.
"This week on Wednesday, Bryant School Partners LLC — an entity Sunflower created for the project — applied for city approval to demolish the former KCPS school. But Bryant, which by all accounts remains a perfectly usable building, is not a goner just yet."
