KCPD Celebrate South Side Crime Drop & Door Locking

Just a bit of good news and a prevention reminder . . . 

Overall, burglaries are down 27% this year, with stolen vehicles decreasing by 36%. South Patrol Division Commander Major Kari Thompson shared tips with residents in attendance to keep those numbers down.

“Making sure that you’re locking your screen doors, that the inner door from the garage to your house is locked at night, and remember to put your garage door down,” said Thompson. “You would not believe how many officers put down garage doors at about 3 o’clock in the morning.”
