Our local faux transit will reliably shut down some time during colder weather but for now we celebrate a recent triumph and the "frou-frou" transit returning to top form . . . Temporarily.

"Full KC Streetcar service between the Riverfront and UMKC resumed early this morning following the successful completion of track slab reconstruction and testing of the areas on 5th Street in the City Market.
"Thanks to the hard work and coordination of our team, crews and project partners, the work was completed ahead of schedule, allowing streetcars to return to normal operations earlier than anticipated.
"We recognize the inconvenience service disruptions can cause and appreciate the community’s flexibility as we completed this important infrastructure work. Like all infrastructure, our system requires routine maintenance, and we’re committed to keeping it safe and reliable for Kansas Citians for years to come."
