Kansas City Faith Blogger Rebukes 'Sickness' Of Christian Nationalism

Before anybody gets too worked up . . .

Remember that we're talking about BOOK REVIEWS here . . . And we notice that the most frothy online ranting is rarely coming from people who read beyond their phone screens.

Still . . .

We can't deny the potential for hard feelings when it comes to faith & politics . . . If fact, so much acrimony about existential questions and public policy always seems silly to TKC because we know how the horse trading is REALLY accomplished and the open secret is simple . . .

EVERYONE IN POWER IS ON THE SAME SIDE.

Credit to the Big JC for at least trying to give us a hint that the real struggle between the haves and have nots is eternal and started just as soon as the monkeys picked up sticks to sort out seating arrangements at a watering hole in the Great Rift Valley a couple of million years ago . . . Everything beyond that is just, well, politics.

But I digress . . .

More interesting than the influence of Mexican fatalism on TKC is what a top local writer on faith and morals shares about Christian Nationalism now that the midterms are upon us and the divinely gullible mistakenly believe that all of these silly campaign promises have a real impact on the fate of the nation.

Check-it . . .

"It’s a sign of how serious the sickness of Christian Nationalism has become that two different publishers have, within a few days of each other, come out with books that take that threat seriously and that help readers to think theologically about why this movement centered in power and corruption must be opposed."
