Don't worry . . . Most of the finer points . . . Like the exact location of the stadium are still a mystery.
But, here's a peek at local government attempting to translate their financial servitude to Clark Hunt into something more palatable for the plebs . . . Check-it:
The Unified Government of Wyandotte County and Kansas City, Kansas, will consider changes Thursday night, October 8, to its agreement supporting STAR bonds for the Chiefs’ proposed domed stadium.
The proposal would remove several requirements from the original agreement.
- The Unified Government would no longer need to approve some stadium financing documents.
- The Unified Government would no longer have to approve changes to the STAR bond district’s boundaries or the project’s starting tax revenue.
- A guaranteed Unified Government seat on the five-member community impact committee would no longer be mandatory
The bonds would be paid off over up to 30 years using some sales, use, and hotel taxes collected near the stadium. Money set aside for emergency medical services and public safety would not be used.
