And so . . .
TKC checked comments, reviewed socials and even did a bit of scientific research by way of asking my mom's chihuahua . . . Here's the takeaway . . .
SENATOR MARSHALL WON LAST NIGHT'S KANSAS DEBATE BUT ONLY BECAUSE HE DIDN'T GIVE UP ANY GOTCHA MOMENT!!!
As we've noted . . .
The Kansas U.S. Senate contest is an exercise in low expectations if nothing else.
Again, both candidates looked like empty suits.
Senator Marshall seems completely clueless on foreign policy and without any real vision for Kansas or leadership ability other than his record for dutifully taking orders from smarter people in the GOP.
However . . .
Rev. Hamilton was badly hurt by scandal and his he flubbed an AI response when Kansans on both sides of the aisle are begging for strong regulation that protects communities.
What voters should understand . . .
By simply offering yearbook answers and platitudes, Senator Marshall didn't give Dems the mistake they needed to bury him and that alone might be his path to victory in a state known for the bland leading the bland.
Here's the MSM takeaway and reporting from both sides of the debate . . .
"Marshall and Hamilton traded criticism and attacks over the Iran war, immigration enforcement, healthcare and tariff policy, as well as other controversies that have popped up during their unexpected battleground campaign".
Probably the most interesting part of the evening . . .
"At the opening of the forum, both candidates faced questions about controversies weighing down their campaigns. Marshall pushed back on reports that he sued hundreds of patients over unpaid medical bills when he was a practicing doctor, calling the allegations “blatant lies.”
"Hamilton was pressed about whether his church properly handled reports of child sex abuse. Hamilton has denied any wrongdoing, and a report by the Kansas City Star found that the church conducted an internal investigation of the incident and reported the suspect to police."
