Gunfire Kills Kansas City Woman Found In Street Near 42nd & Troost

A tragic trend continues this into the new week . . . 

Over the past few years we've noticed more women killed by deadly local gun violence. Right now early morning data confirms as much. 

Here is the report that police share sharing with local media . . . 

Homicide 1200 blk E 42nd

Yesterday, just before midnight, officers were dispatched to the 1200 block of East 42nd Street on a reported shooting. 

As officers arrived they located an adult female victim suffering from a gunshot wound, lying in the street. Officers began performing lifesaving measures and KCFD medics arrived simultaneously. The victim was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced deceased a short time later. 

This is being investigated as a homicide and no one is in custody at this point. Detectives are canvassing the area and interviewing any possible witnesses to determine what led up to the shooting. Crime scene investigators are processing the scene for physical evidence.
