"Shawn Harris, the man who shot and killed Wyandotte County Deputy Elijah Ming in July 2025, has pleaded guilty to capital murder, prosecutors announced Tuesday.
"According to the Wyandotte County District Attorney’s Office, Harris entered a guilty plea to capital murder Tuesday morning for the July 26, 2025, shooting death of 34-year-old Deputy Ming.
"The mandatory sentence for the crime of capital murder is life without parole."
