Tonight we note another sign of the times and one more reminder that respect for the culture and traditions of other people continues to decline . . . Here's an update and the latest report on local sacrilege:
Early Tuesday morning, St. Stephen Baptist Church on 1414 E. Truman Road was set on fire. Whoever committed the crime started the fire from outside the building. Fortunately for the church, the flames were contained to its history room. Due to the age of the building and damage taken, it could be north of $100,000 to fix up . . .
That wasn’t the only criminal act to happen at a place of worship overnight. A break-in took place two miles down the road Wednesday night at St. John’s Anglican Church on Kensington Avenue.
The thieves stole an AC unit, water pipes and religious relics that are over 100 years old.
