More than 150 attended the forum at the Kansas City Public Library’s Plaza Branch. The event was part of a 10-city tour to mark the re-release this month of Kansas City author Leonard Zeskind’s 2009 book, ”Blood and Politics: The History of the White Nationalist Movement from the Margins to the Mainstream.”

The book, originally published in 2009 by Farrar, Straus and Giroux, is a comprehensive history of the movement as it evolved over several decades. Zeskind, founder of the Institute for Research and Education on Human Rights, worked on the book for nearly 16 years. Supporters say the new paperback edition, released by Macmillan Publishers, is just as relevant today as when the book first came out.
