The UMKC Roo Wellness Center encourages students not to worry after Missouri no longer reaches herd immunity against measles.
Herd immunity means that enough people in a group or area have immunity to a virus that it no longer spreads easily.
“We’re below the 95% needed for herd immunity, which means outbreaks can spread fast in our communities,” said the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services in a social media post.
