Survey Seyz Kansas City Mostly Satisfied

Allow us a "wayback Wednesday" moment . . .

We remember when these KCMO Citizen Satisfaction Survey GARBAGE NUMBERS were "reported" by an old school columnist by the name of Yael Abouhalkah who actually earned a living wage for regurgitating this kind of silly tripe put together by city hall.

For those who don't know, the data is collected by phone calls most people ignore and/or junk mail that people place directly in the circular file.  

Now . . .

AI assigned by a national news outlet has been charged with sharing these deets . . . We can only hope that 12th & Oak will soon assign a machine to collect the data as well. 

For the moment . . . We might get a few pennies from making fun of all this until a robot with a better sense of humor replaces us as well. 

All of this is progress that shouldn't be lamented if only because very little was lost or gained. Except for MILLIONS of gallons of water.  

Now here are the numbers long after execs mistakenly believed that "data-driven" reporting would save local journalism . . . 

Check-it: 

KC saw major year-over-year sentiment gains in policing (up 16.8%), city communications (up 9.3%) and housing (up 9%).

The lowest-ranked category was street, sidewalk and infrastructure (25.5%), although satisfaction was up 12% from two years ago.

The highest-ranked categories were fire and ambulance services (74.3%), airport facilities (73.4%) and solid waste services (67%).
