"Lee’s Summit Mayor Beto Lopez announced Monday afternoon that he was stripping council member Hillary Shields of her mayor pro tem title, five months after he named her to the role. In a statement announcing the decision Monday afternoon, Lopez indicated he was unhappy with Shields’ time as mayor pro tem and said he was appointing council member Donnie Funk to replace her."
